The best Espresso Stout, even has a hint of chocolate. Too bad they had to change their name from Willamette Brewing.

Comes out of the tap a warm, opaque sable just a hair above black with a very fine-bubbled and persistent tan head. Roast coffee aroma has a hint of semi-sweet chocolate. Flavor is like a top-of-the-line mocha - quality coffee and chocolate with nutty, smoky and molasses hints. Texture is velvety smooth and nicely fizzy.

Very stout-like in appearance, retentive tan head and lacing. Aroma of caramel coffee ice cream. Very mocha. Flavor full of roasted coffee, creamy and sweet, a mildly bitter finish with lingering sweet chocolate malts. More expressive as it warmed. A huge surprise.

Easily the best daily-drinker stout I have ever had and I have had my share. Perfect malt-to hop ratio for a stout with the strong but not overwhelming chocolatey malt winning out. Aroma is strong dark espresso, roasty burn bread but not nearly as potent as a Guiness. Nice thick body with a crema head that lasts for a long time. Taste is roasty chocolate malts, strong but not stinging coffee and some light sweetness. Finishes nice and and smooth.

Pours jet black with off brown head. Aromas of coffee, light cocoas and malt. Drinkable espresso stout, I can easily put to pints back.

I love a well done stout and this one did not disappoint. Creamy and smooth with an enticing coffee aroma. Extremely drinkable - it went done quite easy. Would love to have this one again. Yum!

Appearance: black, with amber highlights and half a finger of dense, creamy medium tan head and generous rings of lace . Aroma; smells really good--smooth milk and dark chocolates, vanilla, cream, a bit of toasted bread, with roasted espresso beans. Taste: dry, roasty coffee, bittersweet chocolate, oreo cookie pie crust, crème anglaise. Finish: smooth, slightly dry, with lingering bittersweet chocolate and black coffee. Notes: Wonderful. I love coffee stouts, but hate the ones that have an overpowering acidity from all the coffee. This was perfectly balanced. Smooth, sweet, roasty, with chocolate, cream, and espresso in perfect balance. Outstanding example of the style.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2014 Black pour with a thin light khaki rocky head. Lovely nose that’s full of earthy freshly roasted Java and a smooth hit of rustic chocolate. Lovely flavor too with lots of sweet and earthy black coffee and a wee bit of roast and chocolate. Amazingly balanced and drinkable but still sweet and dessert like with a shot of delightful coffee and roast.
