The Perfect Storm Double IPA celebrates the rich traditions of brewing in the Northwest. The perfect storm of six different hop varieties combine to create a substantial ale with a clean finish. A proprietary blend of regional and European barley malts balance the hop bitterness while allowing the hop flavors to dominate.

Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a creamy white lasting head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of citrus, light rose fragrance, perfume sweetness and tropical floral. Initial medium sweet taste giving way to a lightly bitter finish. Medium body, average carbo and a medium bitter but brief finish. Nice complexity.

Bottle, 2015 perfect storm, picked up at Albertsons grocery... so cool to find great beer on the corner store shelves. Pours a deep caramel color, a little hazy, and topped with a monster of a creamy beige head. Nose is mostly floral and pine, light citrus. Faintly sweet. Hop forward taste, lots of pine and floral bitterness. Good citrus flavor and enough of a malty backer that its not over the top. Still potent... very big. Nicely done.

Bottle, shared with Rosser and Parksy. Hazy orange-tinted gold, lasting white head. Pine and citrus rind hop character, very bold, with a nice malt structure that isn’t overly sweet. Long bitter finish. Delicious.

22 oz bottle from Trader Joes in Salem OR $7.49 2015 vintage with 8.7% alc. Clear orange coloured ale with a large thick and creamy creme coloured head. Great fruity, mango and peach aromas mixed with fresh spruce..very nice. Taste similar to aroma but getting more malts..and a very bitter after taste. Good mouth feel,,,,smooth medium body medium to low carbonation. A very nice beer.

Pours a sharp golden with an orange tint. One to two fingers of off-white head. Nose is herbal and piney with some sweet resinous citrusy notes and toasted grain on the back end. Resinous and piney with some citrus rind and a grainy toasty malt character. Medium bodied with some sharp alcohol.

Hazy burnt golden with a thin sticky white cap. Big hoppy nose with grapefruit rind and pine resins and floral, fresh whole come hops. A touch of melon and mango of the aroma too. Big bold and full flavor with plenty of lemon rind citrus, bitter pine, and hop resins all over the place. The malty body is just sweet enough to warrant it, and doesn’t intrude on the resiny bitter leafy and floral tones and pine flavors.

22 oz bottle, 2015 version. Pours hazy golden orange with a medium fluffy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is some caramel malts and lots of tropical fruits and piney resiny hops.

The flavor is sweet caramel / crystal malts with some tropical fruit and piney peppery hops with a big harsh bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a very nice DIPA with a bit of a harsh finish.
