3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap @ Parkway. Clear, gold pour with a brief rim of a white head leaving minimal lace. Nose is tropical fruit, pine, citrus and maybe some malt in there. Medium body and moderate, very fine carbonation. Pine resin, orange flesh and zest, toast and a bit of ethanol. Finish is also a shade alcoholic, but otherwise the standard bitter NW IPA. Oakshire are doing good things, keep an eye on them.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Strong, barny, manure; floral notes behind that; peach; passion fruit. Flowers growing in the pasture. Hazy golden straw. Initial has some good light fruitiness; hops hide until mid palate, along with a bit of pepper; final balanced out; a slightly sticky hop burn aftertaste. Medium body and a bit sticky. Nicely done overall.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2013 Bottle from Whole Foods Roosevelt. 8/20/2012
I am SO glad Oakshire is now available in Washington State. This is a beautifully balanced IPA. Grapefruit and pineapple aroma, beautiful blend of those fruits with crystal malt in a perfect balance. Long finish is sweet and fruity with a hop snap instead of aggressively bitter (Stone Ruinition, Diamond Knot Industrial). Very easy drinking, 22 oz went down like no one’s business without a hint of the 7+% abv. I would have called it at very low sixes.
Very good -- maybe even great -- beer from a brewery that has the balance dialed in.
Bottle, revisit 9/8/2012.
Yep, this is a great beer. The 4.0 stands. (I need to implement my own Bayesian ranking system for revisits...)
Bottle from Last Drop, revisit 11/25/13. Listed at 6.7% ABV. Very much as above. Big lacing, clementine orange and mango aroma, remarkable white grapefruit flavors. Balanced almost mellow, and delicious.

22 poured into tulip. Nice pillowy off white on top of a coppery orange body. Nice lacing. Lots of bread and biscuit. Big floral hop flavor up front then mellowing to a long citrus puckered finish. Well balanced and tasty

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is a big IPA that just barely misses the IIPA classification. Pours a Golden color with reddish copper highlights that glint here and there. Average white head. There’s a distinct pastry doughy, slightly sweet, cracker-like aroma that reminds me of pilsner malt followed by an herby light-ctirus aroma of northwest hops. Medium-light bodied, it carries through a sweet malt flavor that is not caramel. Hops are well-behaved and in restraint. Bitterness is very smooth with no carry-over. This is a clean-finishing beer. However it is more of a malt/hop balanced beer than a lot of other ipas from the same region.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Piney nose characterized by bread and some caramel sweetness. Notes of peat, lemon zest, and light caramel on a toasty creamy malt backbone. Some bread character. Moderate citrus hop presence. A little oily with light floral notes. Lingering bitterness.
