DruncanVeasey (1741), No. 46, Leicestershire, Germany Aug 4, 2008 The Shakespeare’s Head, Leics. Oddly hazelnutty aroma with added butter and vanilla. Light and sourish with hints of lemon, grassy hops, peanut and rubber. The nuttiness on the nose is intense for such a pale beer, and a little offputting. Bright yellow. Bit of a weird one, but refreshing, and ok for a lager. Pub (4125), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jun 14, 2008 Keg at The Punch Bowl, Warwick. Pale gold with white head. Another sweet buttery lager with a bigger sulphery nose than the 5% lager. Unassuming, fairly tasteless lager but Lager boy loved it. In my opinion pretty dull. maeib (4012), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Nov 29, 2007 Keg lager. Shakespeares Head, Leicester. A pale gold coloured lager with a tight white head. The aroma is sweet and buttery with notes of vomit. The taste is similar but the vomit is less pronounced. Poor leaparsons (4001), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jan 14, 2007 Cask, Shakespeares Head, Leicester. Golden with a white head. Lots of carbonation. Aromas are light biscuit malts with some nuttiness. Flavours are sweet biscuit malts with soft lemon. Some toast with soda water. A bit thin. RichardGretton (2684), Leicestershire, England Jan 12, 2007 Cask@Shakespeare’s Head, Leicester. Bold yellow lager with a strong head and active body. The aroma is weakly dry, and the flavour is weakly dry with a sweetish finish. Overall a plain lager but nice.
