DruncanVeasey (1612), Burbage, Leicestershire, England Aug 4, 2008 Bright and yellowy just like the Acorn, with the same sourish and distinctly nutty aroma. Strange, vegetal and sulphurous. Faintly grassy hops, a hint of lemon and a clinging sweet buttery note to finish. Oatmeal and vanilla. Lightweight, but pretty well made and preferable to 99% of the cornflake fizz marketed as ’lager’ in the UK. imdownthepub (3995), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England Jun 14, 2008 Keg at The Punch Bowl, Warwick. Pale gold with white head. Sweetly flavoured, flowery lager. Buttery with hints of sulpher on the nose. Vanilla in the finish, pretty average. maeib (3917), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Nov 29, 2007 Keg lager. Shakespeares Head, Leicester. A pale gold coloured lager with a tight white head. The aroma is sweet and buttery with notes of vomit. The taste is similar but less harsh. There is even a little sweet smoothness. Still poor but better than its stablemate. leaparsons (3878), Leicester, Leicestershire, England Jan 14, 2007 Cask, Shakespeares Head, Leicester. Bright gold with a small white head. Aromas are sweet biscuit malts with cream and soft lemon. Flavours are biscuit and sweet lemon with good bitterness and a dry finish. A decent lager. RichardGretton (2603), Leicestershire, England Jan 12, 2007 Cask@Shakespeare’s Head, Leicester. Golden beer with a strong head. The aroma is gentle and the flavour is mildly weak and sweetish dry. Overall a nice bitter lager.
