The Shakespeare’s head, Leicester. Dark ruby with a fat beige collar and clinging lace. Dunked biscuity malt character with a faint dusting of choc. Good musty hops coming through and a hint of fruit. Soft, slightly mealy, unroasty mild.

Cask conditioned at The Punch Bowl, Warwick. Dark brown with beige head. A malty fruity northern mild with a cereal mash character. Easy drinking and simple, and in this pub, very cheap. Quite dry in the finish, decent beer.

Cast at The Wenlock, october 07. Clear ruby color with a small white head. Nice, butterscotch, raisiny aroma. Nutty, toasty flavor, mild and warming. Light to medium mouthfeel, highly drinkable. Nice smelling and quaffable mild.

A Mes rate: Cask in the Fat Cat in Sheffield.
A gorgeous red / orange / brown colour. A proper mild. Wheat, straw, young and rather lovely. Downable, enjoyable, straight forward and excellent.
