Growler from the brewery. Opaque brown pour, small beige head. A nice roasty aroma, quite pronounced, and up front. Light pine hops, and some cocoa, and touches of coffee. Quite nice. The mouthfeel is perfect, and the carb is what you would expect from a growler, a tad low. The finish is quite roasty, with a nice subtle cocoa/malty sweetness. Low bitterness in the finihs and some more solid roast. Very drinkable and quite nice.

On tap at the Only Cafe. Pours an orangey, dark brown with average-sized light tan head. Aroma is chocolate, fruit and some roasty notes. Flavour is modestly roasty with chocolate, coffee and a little fruitiness. Average body. Not bad.

[Draught at Bar Hop] Pours a dark deep amber-brown with a small semi-lasting frothy tan head. Some lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light fruity tartness, chocolate and light hops. Nice flavour of chocolate, toasted malt, lactic notes, coffee and light hops. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Surprisingly really good.

Tap at Volo. Deep black pour with a bit of thin tan head. The nose is fairly fruity with a nice blackberry and raspberry character. A little bit of cocoa and some nice soft fruitiness. Low roast. Leans English in its approach.

This Porter poured a deep dark amber colour with a beautiful, tan coloured, creamy head. Scents of caramel, light coffee, nuts and a small amount of cocoa. First sip was delicious with flavours of roasted caramel, coffee, nuts and very light cocoa. Mouthfeel is a little weak but very flavourful. Finish is malty with flavours of caramel lingering.

2013-11-27. Crisp mahogany tinged brown-black body small beige head. Aroma is sweetish with a tangy almost vinous fruit character. Flavour is similarly vinous, with notes of mild dark malt and roast hints. Smooth average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Nice, it is enjoyable but not very portery. On tap at Volo, Toronto

On tap at bar hop. Black with little head. Low carbonation. Toasted malt caramel, a little dark chocolate on the nose. It’s smooth and medium watery mouthfeel. Sligh cold coffee bitterness but generaly very drinkable. Lighter than expected. Not challenging. Sessionable porter.

This dark brown porter pours with a rich head. It’s fairly malty and robust and has a slight smokiness about it. Dark chocolate with a bit of nuttiness are the predominant flavours.
