Bottle from brewery. Pours clear golden with a massive white head. Sediment in the bottle. Aroma of spices and herbs, yeast, and cooked apple. Taste is spicy with a herbal bitterness and dry finish.

2013-02-10. Hazy pastel dark yellow body, small white head and lace. 3+ Yeasty aroma, dryish grassy wheat like notes. Whispers of lemon? Flavour is similar, on the mild side, dry grassy hops, mild lightly wheat pale malt. Light bitterness throughout. Average bodied palate. Enjoyable, a bit mild but rather nice. Quaffable. Rhino Winter Festival, Toronto

Bottle at Rhino Winter Beer Festival, Feb. 10. Pours a cloudy light gold with an average size semi-lasting fizzy white head. Sweet aroma of banana, herbs, yeast and some light spices. Sweet flavour of banana again along with herbs, yeast and a spicy finish. Average to medium bodied. More of a Hefe then a Saison to me and more banana then I’d like but overall it’s pretty good.

Cloudy pale yellow pour. Huge rocky head. The nose is wheaty and a little bit spicy. A touch of orange and some lemon as well. Medium-bodied and a little bit sweet on the finish. Sort of a wheat/saison hybrid. Interesting.

The Rhino winterfest. A bit funky. Not so drinkable although smooth mouthfeel. Just off-putting spices that were more like a biere de garde. Lasting head.

Decent saison. Good head and lacing. Pours golden clear. Some banana on initial smell - I thought it was bubblegum but the guy at the bar corrected me at the Rhino winterfest and hes right about the banana. Carbonation a little above average. A light note of florals as well. On tap.

Multiple glasses at Imbibe on New Years Eve. Hazy straw yellow with a medium white head. The aroma is pretty nice, straw, yeasty esters, tangerine, okay malt body. Flavour is pretty decent as well with a focus on the rather interesting yeast character of this brewery, but not in a funky normal Saison-y kind of way. Pretty decent for an Ontario Saison, but I’m not sure why we seem to be stuck in the mindset that a Saison is just a glorified Witbier.

Caged Corked Bottle: Pours a roily unfiltered deep gold-amber. @ finger puffy cap. Aroma of succulent fruits, spice, some honey, some sour and hop grassiness nice nose to it. Spritzy dry character. Pleasant flood of flavours meet the palate - fruits. spices, some tartness very "cidery", spicey hops, peppery mith feel, dry lightly bitter-tart finish. Great saison in the Alsace style - in some ways it is reminisant of La Chouffe blonde.

750ml bottle from the brewery shared with jeff and joel. hazed golden with a big white head. do you know what really good saison is like? is has genuine country, rustic charm. it does not feel polished, it does not feel manufactured. it reminds you that the best things are handmade by artisens that care for there craft. it comes from a little red barn, in a vineyard, in niagara on the lake. this is really good saison.
