3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Had at Bryant Lake Bowl...and Although the Place Was Lowlit...This Brew Appeared to Be QUITE Dark...With a White Head/Ring Around it... Malt....Slight Fruit and What Must Be Spices..As This is a Hard Brew to Take Apart...Let Alone in a Bowling Alley... Definitly Tangy and Lightly Heavy Feel to It Going Down...Tasted Stronger Than the 4.9% Suggests... Odd Brew But Certainly Not a Bad One.

Poured dull brown with non existent head...like sugar in the process of caramelization...not too appetizing...tasted incredibly tart and sour with a bitter finish...bad beer...

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Appearance: a cloudy cinnamon red color, with a large, fluffy and quite active off-white head. Aroma: big on the spices, largely clove and vanilla, zesty, uplifting, some earthy tones, and notes of fruit, but quiet. Also, disturbingly, a cola-ish smell emerges.
On the palate: it fizzles. Texture: disappointing, for a Bavarian hefe. It just lays there. Nothing grabs me at all about this one. Body, too thin. Carbonation, too high. Our principal players, the hops and malt, have little to say.
Clove character is much in evidence in the taste, but it teams up in the carbonation to create a Coca-cola effect, no kidding!
Correct that, a SOUR coke effect, for a tartness emergent in the middle completely takes over the flavor, and makes for one bad, sad weizen.
Not to be visited again.

Very carbonated. Lasting head. Dark amber to dark brown. Sour aroma with a touch of chocolate. Very Chocolate flavour, quite sour in the middle. Sour chocolate finish. Uneven beer.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Toffee color, carmel aroma, and unremarkable flavor. Watery, slight wheat flavor. Little finish — not very good. However, it was served way too cold.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep chestnut color with a quickly fading off white head.
Aroma is slightly sour, smoky and spicy. A slightly sour palate with a chalky dry finish that’s out of place. Drinkable but disappointing.

Pours dark brown with very little cloudiness. CIDER, oh no! This has definitely past it’s peak. Very upsetting.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Fluffy off-white head as befits a Weissbier. Deep brown. Appearance marred by large clumped aggregates of yeast. Malt/yeast aroma. Flavors of dough with some fruit sweetness--mostly banana.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not as good as the normal weisse from Jeseph S. It is obvious that it is quality and above most other weisse.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
100th Beer Rating. Amazing - this smells and tastes like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Tastes of opaque wholesome goodness. It tastes full and filling. I don't fully understand how this could be a Weissbier (whitebeer) since it is thickly a dark ruby brown. It is *quite* delicious though. Seems like I taste both caramelness and acidity, a strange but apparently effective mix. I'm giving this a slightly better rating since I feel it is underrated. I may actually like it better than the regular Oberdorfer Weiss.
