1.5 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pour is a clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is non-existant with nothing jumping out at you. Flavor is very sour and bitter with some malts in there. Ok for a eastern Euro lager but nothing to go out and look for.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pale beer, light head. The aroma is quite malty, dry and slightly fruity. The flavour is quite refreshing, dry and slightly sour. Overall not half as bad as the other ratings suggest.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Golden colour with a frothy, fast diminishing, white head. Aroma has corn and hops and is a touch metallic. Nothing much going on in the taste department; some fruit, some hops, slight bitterness. Thin mouthfeel, but pretty crisp and clean.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2006 Very similar to Obolon Premium, but this one’s got a better smell and more solid head. Tastes almost identically, maybe more smooth. Pretty decent, well balanced.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The third in a very moderate trilogy of lagers from this Ukrainian brewer. Pale gold, 1cm head. Nothing especially offensive or commendable in the aroma: lemony hops and lots of buttered corn.
Thin and sweet intiially, developing a tangy bitter finish. Typical lager body. I’m not sure which hop they use, but it has delivered the same astringent note in all three lagers. Quenching, sessionable, forgettable. (500ml bottle, IBS, Perth)

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, fully golden with a small, white head. Rather dry with a somewhat ashy, short bitterness. No real pleasure. 300805

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tried this one after downing a bottle of Obolon Lager. Poured into a weissbier glass, a clear, pale yellow-gold body settled out and raised only a thin soapy white head that did manage to stick around for the length. Sour, tangy lemon, honey and generously grainy nose, very clean. Quite zesty and peppery in the mouth, very light bodied and clean as a whistle (?). Sweet grainy malt flavour with a light plastic note that seemed a trait of the three Obolon lagers, very subtle tangy, grassy hops in the back before a slightly astringent swallow that was crisp and showed little length. Had ’Euro-lager’ written all over it, which wouldn’t be bad for this one as it would atleast be widely accepted outside of the Ukraine. Nothing disagreeable about this one, it would make an easy Sunday quaffer and probably will come Summer. Average. (50cL Bottle, 23/08/05, Int’l Beer Shop, W. Leederville)

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Pale 5,3 Ukranian pilsner. The head is thin and quickly disapates. The nose is not much different than cheap US pils. The taste is an initial rush of bitter with a nasty metalic finish.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Compact white head on a pale golden body. Aroma is of thin grainy malt and straw. Taste is ok for a session beer but nothing outstanding, a little thin and still grainy with a sort of soft grassy hop bitterness. Also a trace of corn in there. Bottle looks good with it’s gold foil around the neck and classy label but it is inside the bottle that gets the rating.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Light gold colour with a small white head. Nicely malty but the bitterness is quite stale, especially at the end.
