2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Plastic botella. Deep amber colour. Very sweet roasty caramel sugary dark malty sweet breadish aroma. Ok mouthfeel. Sweet flavour indeed, lots of roasted like caramel, bread and dark malt. For a kvass style it’s pretty ok. It should have it’s own style: Kvass.

aroma is dusty, slightly weirdly artificial sugary. notes of stale water, or perhaps heavily spiced water with old spices.
flavor is artificial sweet, stale water, metallic water, like sweets dropped in some really old water that has rested in the pipes for weeks.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Plastic bottle 100 cl. Courtesy of MiPchen. Pours a clear amber with a tiny off-white head. Odd mashy, bready character. Thin body, only a slight prickly sensation, odd caramellish and spicy with a slight tartness. Very odd - not like anything I’ve tried before. Is this beer? But interesting. 140113

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours clear with nearly no head. Dark amber colour. Strong aroma of malt and grain. Richly carbonated. Pleasant, sweet taste of malt and barley. Closely related to kvass, this podpiwek is only available in Poland. Produced by the Ukrainian Obolon Brewery, it is made solely for export to the Polish mass market. Perfect refresher.
