nuplastikk (462), Maryland, USA Apr 18, 2008 500ml bottle. Pours a thick, murky brown-red color. Nice head which fades down after a few minutes. Sweet simple aroma. Sweet brown sugary taste which fades into a pungent aftertaste. Quite a nice beer, but not really a prime example of the style. Would be interesting to dry on draft or fresh, as the bottle rated seemed a little past it’s prime.
AgentSteve (851), SF Bay Area, California, USA Oct 9, 2008 Nice deepo brown pour with a thin off white head. Oxidized cxardboard fills the glass, with a hint of chocolate. fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Oct 3, 2008 Bottle 50cl @ chris_o’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2008. Clear light to medium brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (020808) KimJohansen (4294), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 3, 2008 Clear brown with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt and caramel notes. Flavor goes the same way. Ends sweet with warming alcohol. jsquire (1899), St. Marys, Ohio, USA Jul 4, 2008 Big, foamy tan head out of the green bottle, over a reddish brown colored beer. Very sweet aroma like Kraft caramels and puffed wheat cereal. Very sweet, malty beer, like malt syrup, with nutty flavors, some roasted malt, and hints of cocoa powder. Seems light for the ABV, and there is not enough other flavors to balance the sweetness to make this a better Porter. thedm (3406), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 24, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a large sized head of mostly diminishing finely sized light brown colored bubbles that left behind a very hazy strongly carbonated brown colored body and a good lacing. The semi-thick mouth feel was tingly from start to finish. The aroma contained notes of brown malt and floral hops. The flavor contained notes of brown malt, floral hops and a grassy note in the aftertaste. Was it the green bottle again? I don’t know, but it was slightly off in the aftertaste with not notes that I found hard to discern yet not to my liking.
