COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A brown porter that’d be a great beer on its own is even better with a subtle toasted coconut character that complements the dark grains wonderfully. A complex and exotic potion that’s an easy drinking, refreshing tropical elixir.

Pours very dark...from bottle, no head whatsoever....aromas of chocolate very strong...tastes chocolatey....with a little kick of coconut at the finish...first sip was nice. Very drinkable, and not weird like I thought it would be.

Ar: Light chocolate, some coffee, toasted coconut. Ap: Deep brown, clear - small light tan head with poor retention and a think ring of lacing. T: Coffee, dark caramel - sharp ash, some blueberry - finish is water coffee and medium-low bitterness. P: Light body, high carbonation - finish is dry. O: Nice aroma, but the flavors sort of fall flat, and the beer lacks any real sweetness or body.

Light cocoa aromas. Light chocolate with a little coconut on the finish. Overall a decent porter.

12 oz. Opaque black with a fleeting, sizzling soda pop head. Nose is ash, dark chocolate, caramel and a hint of blackberry. Flavor is char and ash, dark chocolate, and tart apple and blackberry with a metallic tinge. Eventually I catch a faint toasted nut flavor in the long aftertaste that appears to be coconut. Light-medium body is drinkably watery and has low carbonation. The very light touch of coconut is nice, but the metallic twinge (although not overpowering) dampens the enjoyment of this beer.

Digital_Aura (227) - Ontario, CANADA - DEC 23, 2012
12 oz. bottle pours a black burgundy (Lovibond 35) with no action and small head - going, going, gone. No real notable aromas. Watery, thin palate with no carbonation. Taste is rather bland, some toastiness, which combined with the flat body makes for a disappointing brew. Don't detect coconut at all. Boring.

Black, with no head to speak of, Smells like coffee and ash, plus maybe a hint of coconut. Maybe. Taste dry, woody and coffee, with maybe a touch of coconut. Kinda thin and watery, too. Needs more coconut...

12oz bottle. Very dark brown, tan head. Aroma of roasted cereal grains. Tastes like a Porter. Roasted malt, some chocolate. Smooth flavor, creamy body. No real detection of coconut. (3542)

12oz Bottle. The pour was a murky dark brown with a large (2-3 finger) light brown creamy head that reduced steadily, down to a thin film and large collar with good streaky lacing. The aroma was kind of sweet with a definite lactose sugar scent with some roasted grain malts and a doughy yeast and had notes of vanilla, milk chocolate, coffee and a very, very light hint of coconut. The taste was lightly malty and a tad sweet with a decent chocolate presence early on, and then became slightly milky with a does of coffee, a bit of vanilla and a hardly noticeable hint of coconut at the finish. The flavor was short lived and faded very quickly from the taste buds. Mouthfeel was almost medium in body and rather watery in texture with a mild carbonation. Overall this brew was tasty, but rather thin for a Porter. Although I believe calling it Toasted Coconut is kind of redundant, as it is barely noticeable in the taste or the aroma...

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a fairly small head. Nose has some toasted notes to it with just a hint of underlying sweetness. Coconut is slight, but noticeable. Not a fan.

Dark brown pour with a tan/white head. Not much aroma but some coffee smell. Not much coconut flavor at all
