3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mahogany pour to the glass with a wispy head that reduces to a thin cap with little to no lace. The nose is of roasted barley and toasted coffee beans. Flavors show little coconut, but roasted grain and coffee dominate. The palate is a little thin of substance, but has enough going for it to make for a "java" brew, certainly not a "coconut" brew.

nice to see OBP stretch out into some more robust styles. this one isnt bad, plenty of chocolate and tobacco notes with a light coconut flavor. not too heavy too. pretty good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours coca-cola brown, with a small, beige head. The aroma is toffee, molasses, and roasted malts. The flavor is sweet, with a faint roasted bitterness and a little spiciness. The palate is medium, syrupy, and sticky. Overall, this is a mediocre porter, and the coconut is minimal.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Liz. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate and smooth burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is weak chocolate with burnt malt, and a certain slickness that might be coconut fat. Sort of lacking in ingredients, but certainly drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle from Bottle Revolution in Raleigh, NC. Dark brown pour with a frothy khaki head. Aroma of dark chocolate and faint floral hops. I think I have a strong case against this brewery for false advertising; there is not even a trace of coconut in the flavor. This is a decent porter but nothing more.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Medium brown, clear, very light head. Mild aroma light chocolate. Palate is off for a porter as carbonation is high. Decent finish with some flavor. Pretty good, but not what was expected.

Don’t let the overall rating for this beer scare you off. It’s a pretty good beer; smooth coffee flavored porter. The body is light, but whatever.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12oz bottle poured into snifter. Can’t say why I started St Patty’s Day with this beer but who cares. Not a lot going on really, taste wise or aroma wise. Little bit of coconut chocolate but that’s bout it. Bland and boring.
