COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is Occidental’s homage to the delicious ale of Cologne, Germany. Crisp and dry, it is clean and lager-like, with a pleasant, slightly spicy hop profile supplied by German Perle. Very "sessionable."

Pours a thin, white dissipating head atop a clear light amber body. nose is somewhat corn syrup? Not terribly crisp. Definitely not light - more cardboard and bready. Pretty poor showing.

Clean crisp, good grains and balance. Simple fresh and exactly what I was hoping for. Easy drinking with a tidge of extra flavor to give it character.

Appearance: stubborn pockmarked two finger head levitating above a field of golden wheat from which swarms of carbonation ascend into the stratosphere. Aroma: peppery hops of the Old World spice a crisp, clean air before it dissipates into candy and bubblegum after thoughts. Taste: a mouthful of dirty honey and sweet fruit, bready malts surrendering to a bed of weak, almost sleepy, disinterested hop tang. Palate: quite creamy and deep for such low potency Overall: a giant among a typically dainty class of brews. the foretaste is especially chromatic, and the feel much more substantial than that of usual kolsch species.

Can. A: Clear gold with a foamy white head. N: Soft grain and loam. Cracker and coriander. Touch of white peppercorn. T: Sweet and slightly bitter. M: Light body, creamy carbonation, no alcohol O: Malty and delicious kolsch. Could take down a lot of these.

Four pack of cans from a grocery store in Portland. Cereal aroma. Nice clean slightly sweet flavor. Smoother palate. Good easy to drink beer.

Tall can from Bottle Jockey in Burnaby. A pale amber beer with a generous white head and a faint nose of je ne sais quoi? Crisp and light, slightly bitter, slightly fruity, slightly malty. Pleasant, sessionable. 3.2.

Tall can from LifeSource. Crystal clear medium golden in color. Creamy graininess in the aroma. A bit of grassiness as well. Creamy up front. Some grains and a nice malty base. Thick mouthfeel. Some grassy hop character as well. Nice and clean. Well crafted brew.

Tap at Occidental Brewing during Zwickelmania 2015. Fresh and light pale malt nose, tiny grassiness, and gentle hops. Clean medium straw color. Sweet malty initial, mid palate flavor changes with light hopping, finishes soft and fruity. Thin body, light carbonation. Smooth, fresh, and clean, This (according to the bartender) is Occidental’s flagship brew.

On tap, poured into a shaker. The aroma is a mild honey and cereal. It pours a clear honey color with a dense, white foam, medium ring and a light wisp surface. A light runny lace is left behind. The taste is a medium sweet. The light body beer is thin and fizzy. Mellow notes of honey and mineral water flavors com re through on the palate with a spice and light citrus finish. It’s clearn and dry with a mellow mineral and spicy aftertaste. Very sessionable and refreshing.
