COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black lager fermented slightly warmer than usual to get it on the edge of an ale. Black malt together with cara- and crystalmalt. German hops.

Draught. High craamy and light brown but unfortunately quickly disappearring head. Dark red almost black and clear body. Coffee cocoa aorma. Flavor as indicated by the aroma coffee cocoa but with a hoppy touch. Low cafbonation, long aftertaste.

Mahogany color. Aroma of caramel and dirty water. Harsh mouthfeel; caramel and chocolate and too much roasted malt flavor; smoother at the end, still too coffeish.

Medium beige creamy lasting head. Deep dark red body, barely translucent. Dry dusty burnt caramel aroma with coffee notes. Dry dusty burnt caramel and coffee taste. Very nice! (0.33l draft at the Rover, Göteborg.)

Draught at the Rover, Göteborg, Sweden. Deep black with a medium beige head. Loads of roasted aromas, chocolate, green pepper, liquorice. Light to medium bodied with a soft but lively carbonation. Very well balanced with a long bitterness.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Dark brown with a low off-white head. Rich and smooth aroma of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, figs, anise and grass. Medium-bodied with a rich flavour of plenty of roasted malts, dark coffee, cocoa-powder, salty licorice, nuts, earth and lemon. Long aftertaste with a lingering bitterness of salt, licorice, grass, dark coffee with sweet undertones of brown sugar and smoke.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 11 Feb 2008) Very dark brown colour with creamy, pale brown head. Roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark fruit and cocoa. Roasted, malty taste with black, strong coffee, hints of tobacco and a smooth, creamy, citrussy, dry bitterness in the finish. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel. Nice beer with a smooth chocolate character.

Draught at The Rover, Gothenburg, Sweden. Almost black with a steady, beige head. Salty and milky aroma, roasted and slightly hoppy. Soft and smooth mouthfeel. A lot of licorice in the flavour. Also some chocolate with salty, late bitterness.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2008 Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Very dark brown. Toasty with somemolasses. Sweet and rounded with milk chocolate and raisin. Solidly malty with notes of licorice, but chocolate takes over. Finishes with medium bitterness. Filling my mouth with flavour.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2009 On-tap at The Rover, Gotehnburg. Almost black color with a beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, coffee, hops. Flavor: Roasted/burned malt, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, bitter hops. Dry finish. Stout like. Re-rated.
