Bottle@bishops, järntorget. Darkish amber, clear. Very english strong bitter/esb aroma: Light nutty bready malts, herbal hops, some earthyness. Dry body, bready herby finish. Darker caramels, dry hazelnuts. Ok bitter. English seems to be ocean’s trademark.

0.5 L bottle, purchased @Systembolaget, Norstan. A layer of sand-colored fish-eyes, resting upon a clear reddish-brown body. Fine, discreet aroma of biscuity. light toasted malts. Some fruit-cake fruitiness and a whiff of dusty hops. Light malt body. Balanced, evenly sweet and hop bitter flavor. Unsweetened caramelly malts, and a lightly spiced and gentle citrus fruity hop bitterness. A light hop linger in the finish. A very well-crafted one.

0.5l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear nutty-brown one with a medium sized off-white top. It smells light peppery-spicy. Some cardboard, sweet caramel and yeast hints. Also traces of chocolate paper. It’s average carbonated and it has a thin watery mouthfeel. Hmm.. More cardboard in the taste. Lot’s of thin watery chocolate paper, some dusty hay, chestnuts and some light burned caramel. Quite a spicy peppery aftertaste on this puppy. Not a great or memorable beer imo, but it’s more than enough to call drinkable. 05.01.2012
