3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Cunningham, thanks! Chocolate, caramel, light roast, mineral-earthy notes and a whiff of hops. In this ordr of appearance. Pleasant, though nothiong special. It gets more interesting in the taste, where an initial, soft wave of ground cocoa finishes light roasted/tart, which is balanced by notes of chocolate liqeur as the beer warms. Very nice, sessionable brew.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Close to black body with hints of red. Creamy, long-lived, light-brown head that reduces to a thin layer. Strong, dry, heavy malty and burnt aroma of ash and tobacco. Also faint fruits, black currant, chocolate, coffee and leather. Strong, burnt and ashy flavour profile with accompanying tobacco. Some sweet fruits, black currant and coffee in the back. Light-bodied and dry with a moderate carbonation. A decent porter, but maybe a bit ashy and burnt for the style?

Ok porter men ingen højdare.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Aroma lightly fruity, otherwise roasted malts. Light wheat. Clear dark brown colour. Taste is mostly fruity, with only light roastiness, taking over mostly in the finish. Not exactly enchanting, but OK beer. A bit too thin bodied.

Tap at the Bishops Arms, Park Avenue, Gotham City (as my mother called it... Bless). Poured a deep mahogany with a thin light tan head. The aroma is light roasted malt, sweet caramel. The flavour is medium bitter with a watery hop bitter liqourice light smoke palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Served cool which probably suited the beer as I don’t think there was too much more there in the background if it had been served warmer. Nice enough tho.
