3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Grovlam (4137) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 15, 2008
[EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] "Old Smoky" Average foamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Clear golden color. Quite strong notes of smoke combined with the hoppy profile and mild toasted malt – caramel notes. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and dry texture. Moderated bitter flavor with good counter sweetness. Somewhat dry bitter and smoky finish. A good mix of smoke and IPA.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Defreni (2045) - Husum, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2008
Fad. EBF 2008. Forholdsvis lys IPA, ikke meget hvad angår humle i duften og smagen er også underligt svag. Noget er helt klart gået galt i forholdet i denne øl, den er ikke dårlig eller inficeret, bare kedelig og "forkert".
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 KimJohansen (10342) - Frederiksberg C, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2008
Clear golden with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with butter, caramel and mild hoppy notes. Sweet flavour with butter, and mild grassyhops. Ends somewhat bitter.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 gnoff (6317) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - SEP 6, 2008
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2010 Earlier Rating: 11/30/2007 Total Score: 3.6 First rating (Cask - Real Ale at Bishops Arms, Avenyn, Göteborg) Shady amber color, small white to tan head. Intense hoppy and bitter nice taste, rather different from the smell. Nice fruity a bit apple scnet. Medium to smooth mouthfeel. Medium bitterness. 7/3/8/4/16=3.8
Rerate (Draught at Café 3 Små Rum, Göteborg) On August 19, 2008 Shady amber color, white head. Sweet, caramel, malty scent. Malty and bitter hoppy taste. Medium high bitterness. Lingering afterbitterness. Moussy mouthfeel. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

Rerate Bottle at a blind tasting On August 30, 2009 Hazy dark golden color, off-white head. Sweet, caramel, honey scent. Sweet, bitter, slight bit acidic taste. Salty aftertaste, medium mouthfeel, high bitterness. 6/3/6/3/11=2.9
New rerate Again tried this on cask, now at Ölrepubliken, Göteborg, on September 7, 2010. Put it against a fresh IPA on draught to compare it, which was also nice. Rating only for cask version though. lear deep golden color, white head. Sweet, fruity, hoppy, berry, fresh, amazing scent! Smooth, sweet, hoppy, bitter, herbal, floral taste; my der this is good stuff right here! Smooth mouthfeel. An amazing fresh herbal hop bitterness that lingers and makes love in the back of my throat. Bitterness is medium high to the dry side, almost a bit chalky. I really wish we coud see more super fresh cask ales in Sweden, this is simply fantastic! Taste is also black currant leaves, somered currant berries, and a dryish finish that close the book on close to perfect. A touch of mint in the scent rounds that off very nice as well. Nice! 9/3/9/4/18=4.3
Sorry to say the beer is not very even between the times I’ve tasted it
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 yngwie (10758) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2008 On tap at 3 Små Rum, Gothenburg. Pours an unclear, golden body under a small white head. Malty background in the aroma, with a nice hoppyness giving floral notes and pinecones. Malty and a bit grainy in the mouth, full bodied, with pinecones, pineapple notes and a decent bitterness. Pineapples and bitterness in the finish. Far from being an extreme IPA, it’s actually a bit anonymous, but it has great drinkability and quenching qualities. (080709)

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 larsga (5325) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 30, 2008
Medium white coarseish head. Paleish yellow body. Resiny straw aroma with fruity notes and some roasted almonds. Dry-sweet roasted almonds and dry straw taste with resiny notes. Dusty mouthfeel. Dry grainy chalky aftertaste.
The owner of Tre Små Rum (Reza) gave me a sample from bottle as well, to go with the draft version I ordered. That had a lot more aroma with more emphasis on fruit and malts. The taste was not more powerful than from draft, but showed the same difference in emphasis. The bottled version was also lightly acidic and rubbery. I preferred the draft version.
(0.3l draft at Tre Små Rum, Göteborg.)
