Had at at Tap That in Oceanside. Was told from Travis there that this won gold medal at San Diego int. Brew Fest. I know why! This brew is fantastic. Crisp spruce, cedar, grass aroma! Crystal clear! Big white frothy head. Up front huge big peppery hops, Note, this was an extremely pleasurably first sip as it did have the usual over the top tar burn hop oil, that becomes too distracting. This grew was pure freshness. Believe it or not I could have had a dozen if it weren’t fir the 9.4%. A must have!

Type: 22-oz. bottle Glass: Figueroa pint glass From: Costco in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif. Price: $4.59 Purchased: March 29, 2015 Consumed: April 4, 2015 Misc.: Got two different possibilities with the born on/best by: 1) appears to be born on Oct. 29, 2014 (Julian calendar), and 2) other could be a best by Sept. 20, 2015. Neither one makes any sense and I’ll probably ignore everything about this. Poured an orangish, honey, semi-hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of khaki white, rocky head. Could see either flakes or pulp in the bottle before the pour and less pronounced after the pour in the bottle. Light bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Good amount of uneven, layered, foamy lacing. Below average retention. (Sight - 3.75) Smelled earthy, rye hops up front. Also caramel, buttery sourdough bread, spoiled sour fruit, honey and grassy notes. (Smell - 3.13) Tasted that 9.4 pct. ABV right away, which immediately had me shaking my head. Got buttered bread, earthy rye, honey, honey wheat, grass, unsweetened iced tea, boozy wheatwine, regular Goldfish crackers, spoiled veggies, caramel and light old grapefruit rind. Some peach and apricot late. (Taste - 2.88) Medium body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, buttery, bitter finish. (Feel - 2.75) That there could be a beer this bad at Costco was the thing I learned most from having this. This should be at Trader Joe’s and made by Minhas. (Overall - 2.88) 2.96 69 C

Tap at the brewery. Pours clear orange with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is orange, pine, and resin hops, pear esters, and light honey malt. Flavor is heavy hops and moderate bitterness, sweet malt, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Dude abides, Bomber at Costco. Huge hoppy nose of citrus and tropical fruits along with a slight brandy alcohol presence. Some slight malty flavor leaning towards biscuit. No solvency but high ABV is there. Extremely high drink ability.

Had to buy to see if abides! Add listed on bottle 2013 gold. Yes great mango pine aroma, hop oil residual aroma as well. Flavor is extremely hoppy fresh cut grass smooth for a listed 9+%. Plus 5.19 for a 22 oz bomber, great price for XXIPA.

Had at brewery by The Draft in Oceanside. Big huge XXIPA. With big mango hop aroma. Could smell it from taps. Great deal five bucks pint for listed 10+ ABV and 100+ IBUs. Flavor is slight biscuit malt with incredible floria land fruity hops. Was told Mosaic hops were key in the making of The Dude, and yes it abides.

Almost no head. Interesting color - deep red/orange, almost pink. Smell is warm bread/pretzel and yeast with a citrus twang. Taste is fresh; lots of spice with some citrus, bubblegum and apple flavor. After this comes a more savory, herbal flavor. Tangy bittersweet finish with lots of drying notes. No hint of alcohol in the nose or mouth.
