5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Had at at Tap That in Oceanside. Was told from Travis there that this won gold medal at San Diego int. Brew Fest. I know why! This brew is fantastic. Crisp spruce, cedar, grass aroma! Crystal clear! Big white frothy head. Up front huge big peppery hops, Note, this was an extremely pleasurably first sip as it did have the usual over the top tar burn hop oil, that becomes too distracting. This grew was pure freshness. Believe it or not I could have had a dozen if it weren’t fir the 9.4%. A must have!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 oz bottle from Binny’s South Loop shared with drsordr. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off white head. The aroma was very malt forward, caramel, toast, with a hint of herbal hops. The flavor has a bit more hop character, though this is definitely malt forward, caramel, toasted malts, some dank hops, herbal tea, grass, some mild alcohol, this did grow on me a bit.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle shared by alexsdad06 pour lightly hazy copper gold gold with thin ecru head. Nose very malty for a west coast style. Caramel, sweet toffee, then dank hop and light tropical fruit. Taste moderate bitter bite up front, fleeting dank hop, then sweeter flavors. Light alcohol late.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is fresh light stone fruit and citrus. Flavor is floral, light stone fruit, citrus and some whimsical caramel for backbone. Whimsical cause it just isn’t a strong player here. If I imagine, I can detect heat. This is arguably very hoppy, but none of the hop is bitter NW stuff. This is a very hoppy, very pleasant, sufficiently bitter, delicious ale. Nuff said.

Dude double IPA 9.4% Shared by Morgan. It’s an orange-gold pour that is fairly clear with a big zesty hoppy citrus aroma. Tasty stuff.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From bomber to pint glass. I found this to be lacking west coast hop aroma and flavor. Did not check the date, but maybe it sat on the shelf a while. Generally, a fair amount of malt, with the hop that was present being dank. Moderate high bitterness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught @ hotel room, San Diego. Bottled 31.07.2015. Aroma has peaches and sweet malty nites. Flavor has peaches, passion fruit, alcohol and sweet malt. Unusual, not that aggressive with hops but alcohol. At the end of the glass this is just cereal and alcohol. And some fruits.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 31.07.15 -
Pours dark reddish orange with a small head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, syrup, ripe fruits, grass, herbal notes and some tropical notes. Taste is sweetish, malty and caramely with loads of herbal hops, chewy candy, toffee and resin. Finish is heavy, warming and caramely with loads of malts, herbal hops and resinous notes. Heavy and sweetish. Doesn’t feel super fresh.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
A little stron for me. Hoppy aroma great. Alcohol came through more than malts. Hops finished bitter to disguise the alcohol. Overall great beer but could have been a better beer without the heat from alcohol.
