mreusch (433), Olathe, Kansas, USA Apr 17, 2008 Bottle with a cool pull tab cap. Pours a dark brown with a fluffy tan head that dissipates somewhat quickly, minimal lacing. Aroma is toffee, light caramel and chocolate. Flavor is somewhat sweet, with toffee, caramel and a bit of coffee. Actually, not a bad beer for the style.
pivnizub (3638), Porúří, Germany Jul 7, 2008 Bottle: deep ruby-amber coloured, clear, off-white lacy head; dark and roasted malt with a tinge of coffee in the aroma; solid sweet-bitter flavour; astonishingly full bodied fora beer of that strenghth; sweet-coffeeish finish, becomes drier towards the "tail". A kind of diluted sweet Stout....... FatPhil (1965), Espoo, Finland May 31, 2008 Updated: Jun 2, 2008500ml bottle - thanks SaintMatty!
Almost black, small off-white head. Sweet, slightly butterscotchy, aroma. Soft palate, smooth carbonation. Primarily sweet taste - burnt caramel, then some soft and subtle very burnt grains. Alas too sweet. SaintMatty (334), Tallinn, Estonia Apr 30, 2008 500ml Bottle- Very dark, almost black in colour with a tan head. Some roasted and coffee elements in the aroma with a bit of smoked ham. The taste is malty and has a slight sour hint with coffee and chocolate also featuring. Not bad although nothing special. Would like it if more Russian brewers attempted beers like this. bierkoning (4636), La Tropica, Netherlands Jan 3, 2008 White bottle. Deep dark brown color. 3,9% on the label. Light smoked aroma, like smoked bacon pretzels. Sweetish, grainy but also lightly smoked flavor. Molasses, caramel. What a strange beer! Not good at all, and the smokiness seems a bit artificial.
