3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from the LCBO- A clear bottle with a very European look, and an interesting pull off cap. Pours a pale sparkling gold with a fizzy, but short lived white cap. The aroma is grassy with grains and pale malts, followed by a slight floral hop component. Tastes of sweet grains and herbal hops with a grassy, straw like finish. Average light/medium body with decent bitterness lingering. Way better than expected.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
(Hope I’m in the right place. Bottle labelled 4.5%, but everything else seems right).
500 mL bottle. (Production date 07/05/08). Pale gold with just a ring of head. Faint aroma of straw and sweet malt. Flavour isn’t all that bad: some citrus, thin malty sweetness, something a little medicinal at the end. Thin. Quite low carbonation - the funky cap doesn’t work so well, maybe?

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
UPDATED: AUG 17, 2008 Pours a golden yellow and hardly no head and minimal carbonation. Grassy and malty aroma. Thin tasting but fairly pleasant. Good beer from Russia.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle - 500ml. Pours a golden body with average carbonation and a thick white bubbly/frothy head. Thin malty/hoppy aroma with grassy notes. Surprisingly, skunkiness is absent. Taste is also thin and one-dimensioned. Ends with a short bitter finish. Refreshing, not bad, but terribly unexciting.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from the LCBO with a crazy-ass peel-off cap - that’s certainly a first for me. Straw yellow-gold colour with a decent sized white head that settles to a thin layer of foam, and a constant stream of bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma - I expected this to be skunked out the wazoo due to the clear bottle, but I was pleasantly surprised - the aroma was mellow but pleasant, with notes of grainy malt with a slightly sweet edge and some herbal hops. Medium bodied with a nice mouthfeel. Flavour is as much of a surprise as the aroma - fresh malt off the top, a bit of bread dough and honey, some lemony notes, and a mildly bittered finish. A perfectly serviceable summer lager that I’d be happy to drink again.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A golden lager with a thick lacing creamy white head. Aroma of rosewater, corn adjunct and minerals. In mouth, a decent lager, with light malt sweetness, and light mineral notes. Medium bodied. Quite decent for a Russian eurolager. Bottle from LCBO, Ottawa.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500mL bottle from the LCBO, clear glass and labelled at 4.5% ABV, I’ll trust that this is it. One of the most unique caps I’ve ever come across. Has a tab that you pull up and it pulls the whole cap off for you, very cool. Well, I wasn’t expecting much, and to be totally honest, I got more than was expecting. Surprisingly no skunk despite the clear glass bottle, which is a very good sign. Nice sweet malty character defines this one, with a very mild hop presence in the finish. No off flavours at all, which may indicate that it is in fact an all-malt lager as it claims to be, which is definitely a good thing! A slight lemoney aspect is quite evident too. Nothing spectacular, but it made a hell of a good lawn-mowing beer. I’d gladly drink this again and again on such a hot day. Bottling date is within this month so thankfully my bottle is quite fresh, especially for something coming all the way from Moscow.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Light yellow body. Wheat and corny taste of beer. Citrusy aroma, medium-low in bitterness. Not very complex. Bit watery. High in carbonation. Sweet but not too much.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This pale lager pours a fizzy yellow color from the bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is sweet malts and something I would rather not try and identify. A light bodied lager. The malts are cereal and sweet, very sweet. The hops are slightly spicy. It wasn’t skunked so it better than most of this swill. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
