1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Pale yellow. Some head. The aroma is mostly grainy. The taste is also grainy. Light bodied and a little bit grassy. Fairly easy-drinking, although it gets rather sour as it warms.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
My first review after reading for quite a while, so what could be better than a Russian bulk lager bought from a hypermarket near Vyborg and supposedly based on a Soviet recipe...
Extremely pale with a small quickly dissipating head, faint cereal aroma. Quite balanced as there is hardly any hops or malt to speak of, taste slightly on the sour side. Abrupt finish. Wife did like it, so I guess itís for girls.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Light gold pour with thick white head. Aroma sweet grains, not much else. Taste is chemical and slightly metallic, nasty aftertaste. Not good.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared with MichaelBruch. Deep golden colour with low head. Taste of sweet malt, mild citrus fruits, low hops and basement aromas. Easy to drink, but nothing special.

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottle shared with McTapps. Watery and tasteless lager with no aroma. Drinkable only when itís warm or youíre thirsty. Tough one. Maybe refreshing.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Not a good one. Picked up blind from the Russian store. Sour, tart on the tongue, pale gold in the glass, almost looks watery. Many beers of this style have similar labels, so watch out....

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: MAR 6, 2012 Bottle from Systembolaget in StrÝmstad, Sweden. Light yellow colour. Light grainy nose. Sadly a bit watery flavour with some grain. Unusual russian lager.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
On the trans-Sib...Pale gold. Fairly stable white, tight head. Aroma is metallic and also like sour mash. Soft palate. Nothing too exciting here. Mellow, easy pale lager. Bland and innocuous except for that annoying sourness in the finish.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
A: The pour is very pale yellow color with a short lived, thin, white head.
S: Perhaps not surprisingly, this smells very skunky. A bit of grassiness along with lots of corn and straw. There is a touch of yeast and a light fruitiness.
T: Apple flavor and apple juice provide a bit of sweetness. There is a light bread flavor and a lot of corn type flavors. A little bit of sugar flavor and a light grass note. Skunky on the finish.
M: Very light in body with a medium level of carbonation.
O: Not a very good beer, but I suppose it could have been worse.
