Tap @ capital ale house - Fredericksburg - Pours pitch with a thin head. Aroma is of raisin bread. Taste tends sweet and dry. Alcohol is present adding spiciness. Overall, pretty good.

This was tasted at the Capital Ale House in Fredericksburg. The nose was of roasted malt and cinnamon. The small head disappeared and left on a small tan collar. Complex stout with all the raisins and currents in the brew. It was a bit thin and watery. The light body stout’s carbonation was average. The finish was sweet with no bitterness.

From the tap came a very dark brew with a very dark head. Coffee, chocolate, and roasty malt in the nose. Sweet malt flavors,chocolate, and coffee.

Draft in downtown Richmond. Dark maroon color, thick brown head with decent retention and delicate lacing. Aroma of Hershey’s syrup and roasted coffee. Taste is dark roast coffee with dark coca, dry and slightly bitter finish. Nice.

Served on draft at Capital Ale House Harrisonburg. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a thin creamy off-white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of dark fruits, currant, cherry, roasted malts and spice. The taste is roasted malts, currants, cherries, cinnamon and a bitter hop finish. Chewy texture, medium bodied. Quite nice.
