COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Spyhop White IPA is our interpretation of a Belgian inspired white ale infused with an abundance of hops. Spyhop is the term used to describe when a whale pops its head out of the water for a better view above the surface. You will immediately spy this beer’s hops in its tempting aroma, followed by a light yet complex mouthful of coriander, chamomile, grapefruit and of course - more hops.

I like this IPA! I’ve been getting tired of the strictly grapefruit flavor of ipa’s lately. This has some bitterness, but more floral notes. Clear dark Amber. Good lacing.

Draft at Capital Ale House Harrisonburg. Pours a hazy amber color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of spicy hops, stone fruits, floral and citrus notes, mild wheat. The taste is wheat with citrus and spicy hops. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness. Nice beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours straw yellow with a white head. Aromas of spice, hops and tropical fruit. Just a hint of coriander, but the hops are really dominating. Dry, bitter finish.

Draft at Taphouse/Queensway. Super light colored, a hazy, pale yellow. But this delivers a nice, sticky pine-based hoppiness in a easy-going, light body, very drinkable ... enough for me to have a few. Well done. My new favorite from O’Connor. (#5029, 5/24/2013)

Bottle. Cloudy gold, not unlike a hefeweizen, with a tightly packed, foamy white head. Aroma is abundant yeast with floral hops, earthy hops, spicy notes and dried fruit. Taste is strong spicy hops and yeast up front with tropical fruit, herbs, citrus, soft malt and toasted grains rounding it out. Body is medium with a moderate, sticky carbonation and a strong lingering hop bitterness. More fruit notes, spicy hops and yeast during the finish, flowers, earthy notes, herbal notes and toasted grains.

From the tap poured a straw color with a fair amount of head. Bitter hoppy flavor with a lasting finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy light gold with a medium white head. The description pretty much says it all. Moderate spices, some yeasty notes and a healthy dose of citrus hops. Better and more hoppy than expected.
