3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black/brown body with a big sudsy tan head and aromas of grain dust (seems to be an Odd Side calling card on their bottled beers), light roasted malt and resin. Iím not pulling a lot of the tropical "Citra-esque" aromas I expected. Flavor is nice and crisp... a very solid Black IPA... lots of dark malt with a very nice hops presence to balance against it. It doesnít seem like Citra in the flavor either, but whatever... itís a good resiny BIPA.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours dark brown. Big fruity hop aroma. Small off white head. Flavor is mildly bitter, but more fruit and with a bit of roast. Very pleasant. Really enjoyed the touch of dark roast on the end of this. Would definitely drink again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This brew pours a brownish-black color with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roast malt, hops and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of caramel malt, piney hops and fruit. The finish is roasty up front with a resiny hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black Citra pours a dark burgundy brown with a decent tan brown head that lasts a good while. The aroma is roasty, caramel and citrus. The flavor is heavy on the roasted malts initially with some citrus that eventually shine through. Overall this is a pretty nice beer,

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Interesting wave of flavors in this beer. Malty start chocolate middle and hoppy finish. I really enjoy the diversity in flavors in this one.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shared bottle, poured in shaker. Black. Quick fading head. Fruity nose for a black beer. Nothing noteworthy or offputting on taste or palate. Not really hoppy. Roast malt subtle. Okay beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black pour with slight reddish hints around the edges. Thin espresso head fades quick. Tropical fruit aroma. Sweet with hints of coffee and roast. Medium mouth. Really bitter with lots of roasted notes. Lace present. Hints of tropical fruit in the taste. Everything kind of gets lost in that extreme roasted bitterness. Not a bad thing, it tastes good, just not overly balanced.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle:   Cola hued, large foamy beige head, fairly nice lacing.   Strong toasted malt nose, a bit astringent, dark chocolate, black coffee, some fruitiness.   Powdery sweetness up front, fruity, with a roasted malt, black malt, and soft coffee background.   Not all that hoppy, but if this is a Black Pale Ale then so be it.   Not much hop to be a Black IPA.   Too astringent, not smooth enough.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Needs more IPA, more sweetness, touch more body.   A little muddled otherwise.   Thanks Kevin!
