Bottle shared by b3shine. Poured clear dark brown with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, chocolate, citrus hop aroma. Medium to abundant body with a dry slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good complex beer.

Fresh bottle from Champane’s Cellars. Very black and thick body. Smoke and ashtray aroma - unfortunately that was also the taste and therefore not so drinkable.

Bottle, from Sammy. Very dark brown, nearly black. Papaya fruit hop character, ripe melon, very sweet, with underlying silky roast. Big piney bitterness. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours black with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has an interesting combination of citrus, light pine, dark grains and light roasted malts. Flavor starts with smooth roasted malts and a hint of chocolate and has bitter citrus in the finish.

12 oz. bottle shared by b3shine- thanks, Beau! Pours a deep brown color with a small beige head. Aroma of toasted and chocolaty malts, nuts, tobacco, ash, and piney hops. The flavor is more heavily malty and toasty, and for some reason that works. Light-medium bodied, with a dry, toasty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. I expected the Citra to be more pronounced here, but I really enjoyed the beer nonetheless. Really dig what I’ve had from this brewery so far.

12oz bottle, big thanks to umich03jm. Poured into my DFH IPA glass. Very dark brown, near black color. Good thin tan head, good retention. Leaves nice lace. Mmmm, awesome citrusy, tropical fruity hop nose to this. Good grassiness. Lots of fresh citrus, some pineapple. Good roast malt, and some chocolate, some cola. Light spicy hop. Medium body. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Good moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Nice black IPA. Very tasty. Good chocolately character.

Bottle to pint. Looks good; a semi-opaque dark coffee with thin light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of dark malt, roast, and hops with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.
