tap - Odd Side ale room in Grand Haven. Part of a flight - decent flavor and complexity - pretty light on the alcohol though

This stout has a pretty good flavor to it. This is my first time trying an Odd Side Ale Beer. Will try more.

Pour on tap at the brewery, thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big chocolate, cocoa nibs, hints of nice coffee, mocha type notes into a lactose, hints of sugary caramel notes with a slight roasted malt note. Taste was sweet, some milk chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt, slight hint of smoke into a bit of lactose, finishing sweet.

12 oz bottle. One of a few different styles my brother brought back for me on a recent Michigan trip. Pours jet black with no light coming through, even when held up to light. One finger creamy chocolate head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel and fresh espresso. Taste is roasted caramel malt and espresso up front with milk chocolate and cocoa following. Even a slight, faint earthy hop bitterness coming through behind it all. Sweet with a slight hint of bitter. Long, dry finish of cocoa, caramel and coffee. Full bodied, thick creamy/chewy texture, moderate carbonation. Great balance between all flavors. This is definitely on a Stone / Founders level beer here! Excellent coffee stout here!

12 oz bottle, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. Jet black, very dark tan head. Bitter chocolate aroma with dark roasted coffee. Thick, mostly chocolate flavour, some milkiness and bitter nuts. Bright resin hops finish it off.

12oz bottle from gimmethefunk, thanks Pat. Poured a good looking deep black with an average sized deep beige foamy head. Aroma of coffee beans, dark burnt malts, well done toast, light hint of chocolate in the background, some marshmellow. Medium body with light carbonation and a quicker fading aftertaste along with a sweet finish. Flavor is where this beer rocks it, melted chocolate bars, very light coffee notes on the end, marshmallows, burnt grains and some charcoal. Great beer.

Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours tar-black with a small, creamy, mushroom-colored head. Decent retention. The lavish aroma is a blessed marriage of sticky vanilla beans and a rich, hearty mug of Cuban-roast cafe con leche. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and airy carbonation. The flavor features roasty, creamy and sweet milk chocolate flanked by a lengthy mocha finish. Thanks goes out to FlandersNed for shipping me this world class beer!

12 oz bottle shared by family. Pours dark brown to black in color with a smallkhaki colored head. The aroma and flavor have nice coffee and cchocolate character, both sweet milk chocolate and bitter dark chocolate, creamy, somewhat oily feel, solid beer.

Surprisingly very tasty for a chocolate beer, fudge and bitter real coffee taste. Above average mouthfeel. Thick black body.
