Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, fruit, raisin, toffee, oak, light vanilla, and cognac. It pours a slightly murky orangish-brown with one finger beige head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is some sporadic webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel, toffee, and fruit. There is some faint raisin in the background. The finish has moderate aged citrus hops, oak, light cognac, mild bourbon, and vanilla. It’s medium-full bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel.

On draft at Dan's in Saline. The pour is a deep ruby color with a nice khaki colored ring of head and no lace. The aroma is different. There is a lot of barrel in it, and the cognac sweetness is very prevalent. There is a lot of powerful booze in here as well. The flavor is crisp and heavy. Excellent dark fruits and heavy malts. Lovely cognac sweetness and I'm a big fan. The mouth feel is thick and viscous with a great carbonation and a lingeringly sweet, boozy mouth feel. It's got a lot of booze, but this isn't bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at dan's tavern in saline. Muddy brown with a beige head. Sticky syrup and toffee with a barrel finish. A bit hot and bitter but otherwise great.

32oz growler, shared by Mikem409. Big, malty dark fruity aroma. Some milk chocolate, some licorice. Kind of a sweet, sort of cloying taste for me. Light alcohol sweet bite. Big body, lightly sticky. Light carbonation. Dark brown / red color. Minimal head or lace. Barrels don’t seem very subtle or well-integrated, for me. Kind of big and heavy, still nice a nice and interesting bareywine to try, though.

Never heard of these guys before, but mikem409 was kind enough to open a half growler of this at a tasting down in Cincinnati. Thanks, Mike! Pours a hazy brownish amber with no head. Huge bourbon and cognac on the nose, with vanilla, toasted brown sugar, toffee, raisins, and molasses. Flavor is the same, with a nice balance of sweet malts and dried fruits complemented by the double barrels. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, warming mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Holy moly, this knocked my socks off. What a nice surprise.

Growler to snifter (shared by mikem409). Looks good; a cloudy brown with light beige lacing. Smells solid; sweet and boozy. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a nice cognac and bourbon presence. Nice and smooth on the palate. Good beer!

On tap at the source... Pours a deep mahogany with lesser intense edges with a skimpy quickly dispersing head... Toffee, dark fruit and molasses as well as brown sugar... Heavily sweet brown sugar, dark fruit, and molasses. Fairly full bodied with a lighter side of carbonation. Way too sacharine and syrupy overall with a little heat down the throat. Like the flavor despite the I rehearing sweet nature of it.

Growler. The pour is a dark caramel. Te aroma is nice sweet bliss, almost too sweet. The taste is a little bourbon heavy and too sweet, but good for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample at Odd Side on 3/29/13. Opaque brown pour with no head. Aroma of malt, caramel, bourbon and sweet toffee. Malty flavor with sticky sweet caramel and toffee before a bourbon finish. Very sweet, but still tasty.
