3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Ashleyís, Ann Arbor. Poured orange-amber with off-white head that settles into a cap and spots the sides with some lacing. Aroma is tropical (pineapple, mango), citrus (lemon, orange), slight bread. Taste is candied tropical fruit and grainy sweetness followed by citrus peel and floral bitterness. Medium bodied, slick and oily texture, average carbonation, bitter finish.

Bottle. Light amber body. Off-white head. Lots of citrus in the aroma: Lemon, grapefruit. Notes of tropical fruit, toasted grain and a hint of caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Clean with lemon tartness lingering in the finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a golden orange color. Nice citra aroma. Light citrusy flavor, but malt forward...maybe some hops have died off. Not a bad citra pale ale but would have liked more.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz Bottle. Thanks Sean! Odd Side does some great work with hops. Iíve come to find Citra a bit of a coarse creature, with itís bombastic lime and faux bubblegum, but this showcases the varietal in a nice and gentle way, with soothing soft malts, a rich middle creaminess, plenty of lime leaf in the nose, and a nice lemon afterglow. Itís elegant, graceful, and really easy to work on.

My first beer from Odd Side and it did not disappoint. My favorite style, a citrus pale with tropical fruittiness. A great beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
$2.19 bottle that was bottled with a half rubbed out date ... canít make out the month. Poured into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint.
Appearance: Odd label. Lime green background with purple trees in the foreground, with oranges and lemons on the ground. A hazy orange color with a few chunks floating around. Two fingers of head goes away pretty quickly, leaving a white film on top. Lacing is patchy.
Smell: Sweet, malty, but then fruity and herbal hops from the citra.
Taste: About what I expected. Thereís a really nice hop flavor thatís balanced out very nicely by the malt. Quite dry. The citra is highlighted but itís not quite as potent as a beer like Zombie Dust is. This beer doesnít taste much like Zombie Dust, surprisingly, but theyíre both excellent beers in their own right.
Another great beer from Odd Side. To my surprise, less bitter than Simcoe Sensation, but has a very nice flavor -- drinkable as hell. Zombie Dust has a bit more "oomph", but having a local citra-centric beer is awesome. Must try.
