On tap at Wurst Bar in Ypsi. Almost no head, thin beer, with great minty flavor.

On tap at Odd Side Brewpub as Mint Stout. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of heavy mint, roasted malt and mild coffee. Taste of mint, coffee, over-roasted malt and an artificial character I couldn’t get in to. Acidic and lackluster.

hopdog (8796) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 10, 2012
On tap at the Shark’s Club in Howell. Poured a black color with a small sized off white head. Mint chocolate. Some roast and caramel. Mint was there but not overpowering and worked well with the chocolate.

ElGaucho (2191) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - MAR 17, 2012
Draft at Kalamazoo beer exchange. Discernible mint aspect in the nose along with strong roasted, dry, malt. Completely opaque, with no head or lace. Really nice mint flavor that adds some needed flavor to the typically dry roasted malt Irish stout style. Nice.

Draft sample at OS. Poured black color with an average fizzy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid mint and chocolate aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium mint chocolate flavor with a medium mint sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where exceeded.

Silphium (3160) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Draft at Reno’s East, East Lansing. Deep not-quite-opaque garnet body, thin cream head. Minty nose. Minty, chocolaty body with woody roast. Thin, rather weak.

On tap; pour is murky brown with a medium bubbled khaki head that does seem to retain well in this glass. The nose is roastiness, mint leaves, and cocoa. The flavor profile is muted and light bodied; cocoa, toast, mint leaves; a little frango, and bitterness from the roasted coffee note. Not a fan of this one

black pour with minimal head..sweet, mint choco ice cream aroma and flavor...thankfully, the mint isnt overwhelming in this beer and the sweet choco and caramel come out just the same..too thin, but decent
