Amazing vanilla and cinammon notes. Smells like a fresh baked cookie. Head is light but color is nice dark black. Taste is like the smell. Great creaminess. Nice vanilla and cinnamon and nutmeg. Light on the palate. Easy finish. A great beer especially for a spice beer. Also a pepper spice in the finish.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Mini growler - Pours cola-colored with a thin light tan head. Nose is cinnamon, dark roast, and a little vanilla. Taste is lots of cinnamon and baking spice, chile heat comes through a good deal. Thinnish and well-carbonated. Like the low ABV--I’d drink more of this.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
This was a chocolate bomb. Milk chocolate aroma and some sweetness detected. Very dark color that looked thick with a small head. Smooth and creamy with a little below-average carbonation, but that works for this kind of beer. Chocolate hits first with a sense of cream. Some coffee and roasted notes as well. Good stuff and a typical desert beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet chocolate aroma is an eye opener, on thick black body. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and the taste sweet, until the spices show up with the chiles in the finish.

Bottle @ Richard’s Tasting. Black pour with a thin off-white head. Spicy, cinnamon and pepper aroma. Some roasted malt, cocoa powder, and vanilla. A nice roast and licorice note. Light grape. Sweet tastes of licorice and vanilla. A bit of molasses as well. Lots of roasted malt, cocoa, and spices. Fair amount of cinnamon. Lightly earthy as well.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured a black color with aromas of chocolate, earthy peppers, cinnamon, some roast, and some coffee. Flavors matched the aromas and they blended nicely together. This was a surprise and I really enjoyed this beer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Black body with a frothy tan head. Aroma of cigar, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cedar, roasted malts. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium to full body, creamy/chalky texture, moderate carbonation. Rich, dark chocolate taste along with cream and vanilla. Notes sweet coffee. A beer malt in flavor and texture. This bottle was slightly oxidized, so there were notes of wet cardboard and chalk. Otherwise, an enjoyable sweet stout.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep black with a tan head. Some dusty red pepper in the nose, along with chocolate and coffee. Taste is coffe and roast...and then the pepper starts building. And keeps building. Until it hits you. Creamy and chocolatey, this one has a real zing on the finish. I used to not really care for pepper beers but they are quickly becoming one of my favorite styles (spiced imperial stouts that is). Fuck it, this is really damn good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, some coffee and light chocolate, a little pepper, some light cinnamon and spices, and a little dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend of all of the elements. Average texture. A pretty good stout, but could be a little more balanced.

Great stout. Flavors are balanced but wish it had more heat. Stocked up on it. To bad it’s a limited release each year
