Amazing vanilla and cinammon notes. Smells like a fresh baked cookie. Head is light but color is nice dark black. Taste is like the smell. Great creaminess. Nice vanilla and cinnamon and nutmeg. Light on the palate. Easy finish. A great beer especially for a spice beer. Also a pepper spice in the finish.

Bet this does well with some barrel age going on. Big spice and chocolate flavors with a good balance between the two. Good malt body. Smooth milk chocolate texture. Bit of pepper spice on teh finish. Pleasantly surprised here.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pour dark, dark brown. Practically black. No real head. Softly carbonated. Wonderful mocha chocolate aroma. Stout up front, slightly bitter middle and the finish is a mild heat at the back of the tongue and the throat. Very different. Some lacing. Not something I would drink every day, but definitely something to share and enjoy as a conversation piece.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from secret Santa BlowOffTube, thanks for the opportunity!
Solid black color with a smallish tan head that dissipates almost instantly. Aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg with a whole lot of chocolate and some light earth and roast to round us out. The flavor is spices up front with chocolate coming in next, nutmeg pops out again before the spicy heat settles into the back of the throat and just lingers there. Medium body with a light level of carbonation. That is a tasty beer. could use a hint more carbonation, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it .

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours black with a one inch brown, foamy head with spots of dark brown sprinkled about on top. Nose of pure cinnamon and roasty malt. Distinct spicy burn from habaneros on the palate with lingering flavor of cinnamon. Not overwhelming at all. Lacing faded quickly leaving a medium mouthfeel. Coffee is hard to find in this apart from the standard maltiness of the style. A quality brew.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasty beer in the style of Hunapu or Abraxis but lighter and drinkable. I get cinnamon up front with a solid roast grain backdrop and a touch of coffee. Don’t get much pepper here if at all. Maybe just a little thin for the style but fine carbonation helps a bit in this regard. Tasty beer with a nice mix of flavors.

12pz bottle into tulip. Minneapolis. Bottled 11/14/14.
Pours very dark, basically black. No head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, cinnamon. Taste is dry bitterness upfront, them heavy spicy heat. Body is medium - thinner than I would like, carbonation soft, finish is long and spicy.
An interesting beer. The spice is heavy and builds. Body is too thin for me.

A rather good stout nice and thick some chocolate and malts. Then the fire hits. The jalopeno comes out of no where.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Shared bottle, pint glass. It was as described: chocolate and spices with the chili following the chocolate on the palate. I thought it was good, but it is more of a novelty rather than something I would drink again.

Bottle... Tar-black pour with a small, creamy, khaki head. Tons of vanilla, cinnamon, caramel and singed marshmallows in the bouquet. Medium to full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. The flavor is thin and roasty. Some chili warmth and it’s balanced nicely, but there’s also a touch of cardboard in the flavor. Acrid, watery, minerally finish. Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle given to me by a friend who just moved to GR. Black pour with a thin tan head. Aroma consists of chocolate, cinnamon, a minty note (from the nutmeg, maybe?), vanilla and chili pepper. Chocolate and cinnamon flavor right up front, giving way to roast and that same minty note before a peppery, warm finish. I ended up liking the impy BA version better, but I have to wonder what I’d choose if this was was a little bigger and fuller too.
