Inspired by Mexican hot chocolate, this smooth stout will keep you coming back for more! It is carefully blended with Dutch chocolate coffee, cinnamon, nutmeg, and habaneros which will leave you with the perfect balance of chocolate and heat.

Growler shared by b3shine. Pours dark brown to black with a small beige head. The aroma has a big peppery spice, dark fruits, chocolate and cinnamon. The flavor has nice chocolate and cinnamon, peppery spice and dark fruits. This comes off a bit thin. With more body this would probably pull off the flavors better.

12oz bottle from Flick’s in Lambertville, Michigan: black pour with a slight tan head that leaves a ring. aroma of chocolate, light background spices, and maybe faint pepper. tastes are chocolate-y, spicy, sharp light even pepper, milky, coffee. feels lighter drinking despite all the big tastes. quite an accomplishment.

Bottled. Pours black, sexy tan head, good retention. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg come through nicely. Definitely get that pepper in the back of the aroma. Flavor is chocolate, cinnamon, and a lot of heat (for me). Distinctly spicy. Definitely burns in the back of the throat. Isn’t way too much but no way I could do this one again. Just too much for me. But I would say for most people, it’s not too much.

Dark in color with a brown head. Smells of chocolate with a coffee taste that then hits you with he burn of the peppers. You do get a little bit of a cinnamon after taste at the end.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2015 Aroma is light, cinnamon, pepper, mocha. Appearance is dark brown, with a very quickly disappearing light brown head. Taste is bland to start, then fades into chili peppers and cinnamon, finishing with heavy peppers, mocha, and nutmeg. Mouthfeel is incredibly light, hot, and way too carbonated. Overall, I don’t believe this is the right way to do this style.

[7316-20150703] Tap. Strong chocolatey Tootsie Roll aroma. Black body with a quick foamy tan head. Rich chocolate grains flavour has a sweet finish. Full body. Quite tasty. (9/4/8/4/16) 4.1

Poured from a 12 oz bottle dated June 10th, 2015. Aroma is full of chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and peppers with a lot of dark chocolate and cinnamon. Some light roast and hints of alcohol. Pepper note is slightly green. Some light raisin and prune notes as well. Pours dark brown to black with a small, moderately thick, mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges and disappears. Flavor is moderately sweet with quite a bit of chocolate upfront. As the chocolate recedes caramel and some light roast notes become noticeable. A wave of cinnamon follows with some pepper notes and spice. Nutmeg and coffee are very light. Medium bitterness and a touch of alcohol spice. Some lingering spice from the peppers. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer, but for my personal tastes the coffee is too faint and the spices too strong. I do like that it’s not overly alcoholic. Also, the lingering pepper spice is well proportioned.

12oz bottle pours a black color with a bit of head. Lots of spices and chili. The chili burns, but balances well with the spices.

2015-07-03. Black body with a modest brown head. 4+ Aroma is chocolatey, notes of Tootsie Roll, Mexican chocolate and a whisper of pepper. Flavour is similar, Hershey’s and tootsie roll chocolate notes, Mexican chocolate, light spice in the finish. Average plus to medium bodied palate, soft carbonation. Decent. Tap at brewery. Dark black. Lingering bit of head. Very coffee nose. Spicy touch at front of sip flows into peanut buttery body of mild spices, nuttiness.
