Bottle from mikem409 to finish my local4local bif haul. Pours coffee like black with no head, a oil like slick on top. Nose of bouron and oak. Taste adds light black coffee roast. Body seems a tad thin but the ABV lifts.

quite a nice brew - hefty price tag but i suppose that comes with the territory for barrel aged imperial stouts. very dark brown, essentially opaque with only a thin presence of carbonation and head. strong aroma of roasted barley and oaky vanilla, not much alcohol heat despite its 9.5% and plenty of coffee/mocha as well. a touch astringent which belies the sweetish aroma somewhat, although it might just be an overabundance of roasted barley and roasted coffee, almost overextracted. enjoyable, and very well done; certainly don’t mind this as an occasional seasonal stout!

Bottle... Pours black with a small, creamy, off-white. The nose is a decadent swirl of vanilla, cafe con leche, chocolate crčme and graham. Medium to full-bodied with adequate carbonation. The flavor is surprisingly rich offering the same components as the nose. Modest amount of acidity in the roasty, vanilla finish. Bottle courtesy of FlandersNed!

Bottle. Pours almost black with a small head that quickly fades to a thin ring. Aroma is packed with fresh, lightly roasted coffee and vanilla. Also get chocolate and oak. Tastes slightly sweet with just touch of bitterness in the finish. Dark chocolate, espresso, vanilla, light molasses, light burnt wood, and mint. Light bourbon shows up when warmed. Medium body. Very nice beer.

2014 bottle. Almost black with heavy body and average head. Sweet and coffee dominate. Didn’t notice high ABV.

2014 version, 9.0%. Pour on tap at the brewery, hazy dark brownish black with thin tan head, aroma brought notes of big espresso bean, hints of cocoa powder, dark chocolate, roasted malt into some dark fruits, the bourbon and oaky notes come through as well toward the end. Taste was big dark chocolate, coffee and espresso bean come through into some vanilla, bourbon, and tannic oak, some roast, finishing bitter, dry. My second favorite here.

Another cool label and funny name from Odd Side. Pours a dark black color with a very dark thin head. A bourbon warmth in the aroma with a light chocolate. A big chocolate syrup taste and feel upfront. Hints of vanilla but not much bourbon in the taste, much more in the nose. Somewhat of a sweet finish with the syrupy note going until the end. A nice stout.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate, espresso, light vanilla, bourbon, mint, and a touch of burnt oak. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small tan head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with moderate dark chocolate and a touch of molasses. The finish has light-moderate espresso, light vanilla, mint, bourbon, and burnt oak. It’s medium-full bodied with mild carbonation.

Pours a dark black with no head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, and plenty of chocolate. Flavor is similar, with more emphasis on the vanilla and less on the chocolate. Lightly bitter. The flavor and aroma comes off as unique and very tasty.

Black/brown pour with tan head and lace. Aroma is coffee, a touch of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, and roasted malt. Flavor is chocolate malt, coffee, bourbon, and a touch of sour at the end (subtle). Medium bodied and a touch foamy as well. still a good beer

Via trade. Nose is a chocolate and light booze bomb. A moderate green coffee aroma. Very nice. Taste is milk chocolate with a bit of booze and boost. Coffee is a bit subdued in the flavor. A very chocolate forward beer which I like. The coffee and booze seem in check which is nice. I feel the base beer lacks the roastiness of a stout. Really good as a robust porter though. Still a very drinkable and delish beer.
