3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Odd Side brewpub. Stuff like this is what brought me here – never had an orange stout before. Dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of deep roasted coffee like I’ve just walked into a gourmet coffee shop. The orange is a bit subtle at first but it comes through in the aroma and there’s notes of chocolate as well. Taste of roasted malt, orange, coffee and some underlying sweetness. A bit acidic and somewhat astringent from the malt bitterness but overall enjoyable.

tap at oddside. black with small brown head. big bitter chocolate with some sugar. orange brandy comes across in the finish. both aroma and flavor capture the subtle orange coffee notes. very nice. could use a bit chocolate or lactose to balance the slight bitterness and acidity of this one. thin, watery body like a cup of coffee..
