bottle. golden with small head. in general i’ve found odd side beers to be well above average, but this disappoints a bit. boozy dipa with big bitter hops. still, at worst it’s average -- i just have come to expect far more from this brewery.

czar (4930) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 7, 2014
pours hazy light golden with a thin off-white cap showing some retention and lacing. mangoes, melons, pineapple, barley sugar and other plain sugars, touch of caramel, very doughy and heavy cereals, citrus, pine, grass, booze - tingling pepper and mint. moderately low carbonation, medium body - oily and sticky, relatively sweet piney-spicy-citrusy finish. nice aroma at first whiff but turns out to be a mix of booze, caramel and barley sugar or learn how to be a hobo.

tmoreau (2683) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - AUG 6, 2014
Shared 12 oz. bottle, poured to snifters displaying a cloudy, orangey amber color, with a modest layer of off white foam that reduced to a thin ring & film, leaving light spots of lacing. The nose was a touch of syrupy sweetness, ripened pit fruit, with a slight, musty hint, and ready alcohol. The taste continued with the fruit & syrup, spiced by a moderate, citrusy bitterness, as the alcohol brought forth some decent warmth. Not a DIPA to be reckoned with, but okay.

Bottle. Orange/pineapple malt and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Very sweet orange/pineapple malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel/pine flavor. Okay - very sweet.

On tap at Blackthorn Pub, Holly,MI...very sticky, oily, and resinous which is not my favorite IIPA stlye, however this is good nonetheless.

ICEatALAMO (1051) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JUL 11, 2014
Draft at BFDs. The pour is a bright amber. The aroma is all bitter hops. The taste is good, but almost a little soapy, weird. A little citrus and a little bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Poured an amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, and toasty. Tastes of citrus, toasted caramel, and tropical fruits. On the balance side, more sweet but does have a lighter bitter finish. Alcohol content well hidden.

Brown orange dark and cloudy pour with an inch of beige head on top. Strong aroma oof pine and citrus hops with healthy dose of biscuity malt. Soft carbonation, very viscous mouthfeel, finishes a bit gritty. Taste is on the astringent side: sticky resinous hops, pine flavors, very assertively bitter, deep carmel malt. Nice bitter DIPA, my preference would be more complex.
