4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of peanuts, cocoa, some sweet lactose, Werthers, some hints of roast. Taste was a mix of big peanuts, lots of it with almost a salty note, hints of dark cocoa, roast, some earthy tones, finishing fairly dry, more peanuts.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Pete’s Place. Brought to me with a nice thick chocolate head. A nice smooth look on top. A chocolate peanut butter aroma that is quite good. A decent mouthfeel with a peanut butter chewy feel in the back. It’s not jam packed with flavor but it is good. A nice light stout with interesting flavors.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours opaque dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma has decent roastiness and mild nutty/peanut buttery notes...just a touch of chocolate. Flavor is even more roasty with some burnt bitterness and good peanut buttery flavor...some dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a lingering roasty/burnt finish that hints at peanut butter. This would be better with less charred bitterness and more milk chocolate rather than dark chocolate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to pint at Odd Side. Looks solid; a murky but mildly translucent dark brownish black with light beige head that quickly dissipates into thin lacing. Smells and tastes of peanuts, dark malt, roast, and a bit of dark chocolate. Decent on the palate; a little thinner than I’d prefer though. Still, a solid example of the style.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2014 Tap: Not sure how I feel about peanut butter beers, but I love peanut butter, so why not? Deep brown and black color with a thin, khaki head. Liquid Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup in a glass. Sweet chocolate, peanut butter, faintly roasted malts. Well integrated chocolate malt flavors with the strong but subtle peanut butter nuttiness. Hops add a very small amount of bittersweet florals in the finish. Creamy body, soft carbonation. Very nice ale that avoids being gimmicky by tasting good.
