This is one of the better smelling beers I’ve raised to my nostrils. Such may betray my utmost affection for Reese’s. That being said, nobody likes candy beer... and thankfully, this isn’t one of ’em. A dry, mellow, constant peanut butter flavor that rides the whole swallow. Here, I appreciated the low viscosity because the subtlety of the peanut butter is better allowed to come through.

Eh, nutty finish, but way too light. Lackluster stout, flat and typical coffee. Nothing special.

Bummed. Really wanted to like this more. Stale cigarette taste at the end too...

Draft at Old Chicago. Pours a dark brown color with a small amount of head that fades quickly. Aromas are roasted peanuts and light roasted malt. Taste is mostly roasted peanuts. Thin body and a tad watery finish. A decent flavor but I think the name of this beer is misleading. It should just be peanut stout. This beer doesn’t taste like peanut beer at all. Oh well, still decent overall.

Sample at Odd Side. Pours dark brown, kinda thin. Little head. Aromas are straight phenol or nail polish with a little roasted malt. Flavor is duties under a layer of hot alcohol. There is some peanut and chocolate, but something went wrong with the fermentation on this one... I hope.

Sampled at GABF 2012. Pours a medium stout brown with an off-tan head. Nose is roasted malts, earth, and some peanuts. Flavor is similar with some chocolate, roasted malts, earth, and peanuts. I didn’t get an intense peanut butter cup, but I may be spoiled by Cigar City and Funky Buddha’s over-the-top peanut butter beers.

Sampled at GABF. Pours an oily black with some spitty head. Nose is straight Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, chocolate, peanut butter, honey, caramel. Tastes like peanut butter and chocolate, malt. Chalky and oily finish. Smells silly but the finish is a bit of a let down.

On nitro-tap at Odd Side this past weekend. Served in a pint glass. Pours medium brown with a good light tan head that persists throughout. Good lacing as well. Nose carries quite a bit of creamy peanut butter, though that’s no much for what’s coming in the flavor department. Huge notes of peanut butter. Super creamy with a nice nuttiness in the background. Semi-sweet with a touch of toffee as well. Great body. Really chewy and creamy. Peanut butter to the max.
