3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2014 Tap: Not sure how I feel about peanut butter beers, but I love peanut butter, so why not? Deep brown and black color with a thin, khaki head. Liquid Reeseís Peanut Butter Cup in a glass. Sweet chocolate, peanut butter, faintly roasted malts. Well integrated chocolate malt flavors with the strong but subtle peanut butter nuttiness. Hops add a very small amount of bittersweet florals in the finish. Creamy body, soft carbonation. Very nice ale that avoids being gimmicky by tasting good.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Peteís Place. Brought to me with a nice thick chocolate head. A nice smooth look on top. A chocolate peanut butter aroma that is quite good. A decent mouthfeel with a peanut butter chewy feel in the back. Itís not jam packed with flavor but it is good. A nice light stout with interesting flavors.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours opaque dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma has decent roastiness and mild nutty/peanut buttery notes...just a touch of chocolate. Flavor is even more roasty with some burnt bitterness and good peanut buttery flavor...some dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a lingering roasty/burnt finish that hints at peanut butter. This would be better with less charred bitterness and more milk chocolate rather than dark chocolate.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to pint at Odd Side. Looks solid; a murky but mildly translucent dark brownish black with light beige head that quickly dissipates into thin lacing. Smells and tastes of peanuts, dark malt, roast, and a bit of dark chocolate. Decent on the palate; a little thinner than Iíd prefer though. Still, a solid example of the style.

4.3 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is one of the better smelling beers Iíve raised to my nostrils. Such may betray my utmost affection for Reeseís. That being said, nobody likes candy beer... and thankfully, this isnít one of íem. A dry, mellow, constant peanut butter flavor that rides the whole swallow. Here, I appreciated the low viscosity because the subtlety of the peanut butter is better allowed to come through.

Eh, nutty finish, but way too light. Lackluster stout, flat and typical coffee. Nothing special.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Old Chicago. Pours a dark brown color with a small amount of head that fades quickly. Aromas are roasted peanuts and light roasted malt. Taste is mostly roasted peanuts. Thin body and a tad watery finish. A decent flavor but I think the name of this beer is misleading. It should just be peanut stout. This beer doesnít taste like peanut beer at all. Oh well, still decent overall.
