COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

Sampled in a 12 oz bottle. Pours deep orangish brown. Pretty clear, very crisp on the nose and tongue. Has a big head on it. Simple taste and flavor but its really good. Very nice brew!

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2012 Cloudy coppery gold with a fading head. Smelled quite yeasty with some pale fruity esters, alongside some caramel and subtle leafy hops. Tasted well balanced with some roasty caramel malts to compliment the humble hoppiness. I also detected a bit of light fruitiness in there, like citrus and dusty mango. Delightfully quaffable and more complex than my words can do justice for.

Bottle. Bronze with an off-white head. Aromas are fudge and cocoa malts with cream. Pear and light berry fruit with bready yeast. Flavours are sweet toffee malts with gritty grain and cocoa. Autumn fruit with yeast and some paracetemol bitterness. Herbal, spicy and fruity on the finish with a bitter, dry aftertaste. Decent.

12oz. Bottle: Faint aroma of malt, slight wood, light caramel, and dust. Poured amber/orange in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, rocky, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Hazy. Lightly sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt, caramel, slight bread, slight toffee, slight wood, and a hint of cocoa. Medium body. Viscous texture becomes a bit dry. Average carbonation. Caramel, malt, toffee, and slight wood finish is a bit dry.
