COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

12 oz bottle into English pint. Pours a hazy amber-orange with a receding beige head. Smells like a HAMBURGER!!! In all seriousness, it does smell like smoky meat, or BBQ. Roasted nuts, too. Taste is mostly sweet with an unobtrusive tart edge. Tastes biscuity. Highly carbonated with a medium to light body and creamy mouthfeel. Excellent.

Pours a nice apple cider color with a tall white head. Not much of a scent, has a light malt and pine taste.

Aroma is light and malty. Head is somewhat thick and lasting. Color is deep amber. No impurities. Palate is flat. Taste reminds me of brown sugar with a slight bitter edge. Nothing overpowering.

(bottle) Pours out a deep amber color with a medium sized off-white head that retains well. Aroma is pretty strong of caramel, is lightly toasty, and has a musty quality oddly reminiscent of a lager. Passing scent of cherry and faint vanilla. This gets a lot better once it warms. Flavor is also strong of caramel, toasted malt, and some cookie dough. Lingering caramel finish which is pretty nice. Mouthfeel is medium-light and carbonation is moderate. Not a bad beer by any means.
