COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

Tap. Dark, clear, half inch head. Carmel nose. Slightly sweet. I would love to drink this beer with the juicy medium rare steak. Overall very good

Clear medium amber with a mostly white head. Sweet malt aroma. Rich malty flavor, very little hop bitterness. Light bodied. Thanks to crajun for the trade!

Bottle poured to a pint glass at the Grand Hyatt lobby in Denver. Pours orange colored, clear, with a creamy off white head on top. Aroma of some caramel and bready malts dominate, with some light floral notes on the back end. Flavor is mostly caramel malts, bready, much like a scotch ale (this is my first "Scottish" ale). Finishes OK, with medium body and a bit of juiciness. Medium carbonation. Overall not my favorite beer but my first of the style and certainly not bad.

Bottle sample from backlog notes 07. Pours a clear amber brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, brown sugar, earth, a hint of peat, light nutty character, thin and the flavor fades, while the nose is fairly weak.

12oz bottle, from Lukas Liquors in Missouri, purchased during my stay for RBSG. Bottle reads 5/16/14B. Purchased this less than a week ago, but unfortunately I think that’s a best-by date. Amber color, made hazy by lots of thicker chunks of yeast. Khaki head. Leaves good reaches of lace. Medium, kind of more full body. Smooth, kind of crisp carbonation. Light slick texture. Good toasty, lightly spicy, caramel malt profile. Light earthy hop balances out the taste. Moderate bitter taste (more bitter than your typical scottish). Lighter sweet. Solid, tasty hoppier scottish. Good assertive taste to it. Nice to enjoy with my sandwich, although at times the flavor of the beer didn’t stand up between bites.

Sweet malts and bread in the aroma. Taste has a cloying sweetness that I don’t care much for.

Poured from bottle to glass. Copper hue with off white head. Aroma is roasted malt, honey, caramel, slight metallic. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium body and soft zesty carbonation. Taste is malt sweet initially with a spicy bitterness and CO2 sharpness to round it out. Overall this is a decent brew.

Pours a dark copper with well-retained but light head. Nose is light hops and sweet malts. Like a true American Amber this brew balances well with sweet malts and bitter hop character. Always a favorite from O'Dell. Finishes malty and pleasant. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
