Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

12 oz. bb 08/19/2015. Clear copper-amber with a lasting topping of bubbles. Nose is caramel and light citrus. Taste is toffee, a bit of dry cocoa, citrus and toasted walnut. Light-medium body has medium carbonation and a pretty decent balance.

Grainy and slight sweetness and a hint of bitterness come from this clear darkish Amber brew. A grainy taste at first then bitterness follows and overpowers. It's medium bodied and has good carb. For an amber there isn't much sweetness and a bit to much bitterness. Not a bad brew overall.

Pours a hazelnut brown with a big rocky off-white head. Lots of intricate lacing. Sweet, caramel malt and nutty nose. Taste is intially sweet caramel, bready malt. Dried apricot, orange juice, citrus peel, and pecan. Pretty good.

Pours dark amber, with a quickly shrinking head. Smells nutty, bread, even a mild coffee note. Medium bodied with a thin texture, has a dry finish with lively carbonation. Taste is more biscuit, malts, and mild hop presence. Good

Bottle. Thanks to Justin. Big malty nose, caramel, light spiced cake, and brown sugar. Copper/amber color. Solid malt initial, moderate toasted stuff, just a hint of chocolate throughout, light tobacco, and a mild bitter finish. Medium body. Good stuff. Very tasty and balanced.
