COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Richer than most amber ales, 90 Shilling is smooth & deeply satisfying, with a crisp, clean Colorado taste. The name comes from the old Scottish method of naming a brewery's beer, based on original gravity and resulting tax rating.

Poured from a growler while watching USA and Argentina. We will see what kind of luck this beer has in over coming Messi. Not the best Odell I have had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At the brewery late on a Saturday afternoon. An amber gold with a thin off white head. Biscuit and bitterness in the aroma. The flavor is sweet malty molasses & biscuity malts. Crisp clean finish on a medium body, a nice Scottish Ale.

[Let’s go with this one, looking forward to it!] Bottle, 355mL. Pours a distinctive brownish amber, copper like as I saw someone saying, nice off-white head with fabulous lacing. Floral aromas, with a subtle cigar-like bite to it, soft pineapple and some other fruitiness, not to estery but really nice, not overpowering at all. The hop profile in the flavour is NOT the typical all-Cascade IPA that leaves you with that terpene shot right in your face. May I add that, while that is a safe bet, flavours like those in this beer are more interesting to explore and very much enjoyable too. Just a bit on the soft side maybe? There’s a certain woody character to it, with a bit of mild piquancy, pepper-like, well balanced. To find an imperfection, it does fall short on roundedness, which impacts the body that is mild to medium (especially because it quickly dissipates: it has flavour but on the short side). On palate it’s -maybe surprisingly- rather dry, even a bit watery, not like those slick oily ales... I’m all in for the dryness but would have preferred a bit more texture in for it. Those sort of balance out, to be fair. Overall, refreshing and drinkable.
