An Imperial Porter aged in oak wine barrels accented with juice from Tempranillo grapes grown on the Western Slope of Colorado, this harmonic combination is truly, a must.

750ml bottle poured clear deep dark brown hue w/ a huge frothy tan head slowly diminishing w/ some sticky lacing. Moderate aromas of barrels, grape, grain, and sweet orange citrus. Initial flavor is a moderate sweet to a light acidic finish. Tastes are grapes, dark chocolate, cask wood, lightly roasted coffee, and lemon. Medium to full bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonation, and a light alcoholic warmth in the finish.

Pours brown with a thick and foamy tan head...nice retention. Aroma has winelike grape notes and a bit of roasty/burnt cocoa. Flavor is notably grapey...subtle tartness...lots of roast and cocoa. Mouthfeel is medium/full and creamy with a warming roasty/bitter finish.

red brown pour, with grey head. Aroma is vinous, grapes present, along with burnt sugar and malt. Medium to light bodied, a lot lighter in body in than I anticipated. Flavor mimics aroma with long finish. Not bad.

The color of this beer is a very, very dark reddish brown color with a large off-white head, and the aroma combines the scents of toasted malts and red grapes despite its subtleness. The taste with its mild umami, slightly sour, and a touch sweet is very enjoyable and indulgent, and the palate mixes a full body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and a long finish.

750 ml. caged and corked bottle. Pours deep mahogany with a tan head. Yeast sediment settling at the bottom. A hint of sweetness from the oak, which shows through more as you sip. Sweet on the palate, but finished with a bit of bitterness.

Really enjoyed this. Aromas of sweet chocolate, wood, and grape juice. Tastes like a chocolate covered grape. A little boozy but very nice.

Thanks, Jeff! Interesting move, to double down on the vinous qualities that sometimes come with strong porters. And even more quirky to choose this particular grape. Reddish brown pour, deep and murky but without being mere soup. Light beige head, seems lively despite the apparent heavy depths. Nose is really inviting, with chocolate, yeast, and a pronounced nuttiness that goes well with the vinous notes. Full but not sludgy body, very well done base porter. Taste reveals some vanilla, mildest of coffee, deep lustrous chocolate and very nice, subtly integrated grape. Surprising and quite nice.

Tap at Muddy Pig. Reddish brown pour with a small spotty head. Vinous grape, slight wood, hint of chocolate, and spice. Wanted this to be better, though. Just okay.
