4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Very nice wine-infused porter. Pours like a wine. Aroma is all wine grape. Taste is wine upfront, followed by porter, and then lingering wine. A curiously successful "hybrid." The porter is imperial, so high ABV, but is definitely not a stout (not as rich or roasty for example). Many porters I think would've been better off as stouts; this one is perfect as a porter. A stout would've overwhelmed the balance with the grapes, which is nearly perfect here. Bravo!

Faint wine aroma. The taste of the porter base really comes through on the front end. Nice and roasty, slight chocolate. Sweet wine like finish though.

Wine like aroma. Can really taste the grapes. Blends in some porter notes like chocolate to balance it out. Overall interesting brew.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a big fluffy light brown head that retains well and laces the glass some.
The aroma is sweet winey grapes and roast chocolate malts with some earthiness.
The flavor is sweet sugary grapes and vinous alcohol with some roast malt that gives it some bitterness in the finish. Itís a little chalky and acidic. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with sharp bubbly carbonation.
Overall, itís interesting with the winey grapes, but a bit off.
