750 ml bottle. Pours dark brown black with a large foamy sudsy khaki head that slowly dissipates to a foamy film and lacing. Aroma has deep roasted malt with hints of coffee and dark fruit. Taste has roasted malt little coffee and bakers chocolate with some faint dark fruit grape juice and licorice. Palate is full little juicy and drying. Nice beer!

Bottle up in Snowmass: pours root beer brown, milky sand colored head that persists. Nose of chocolate nibs, cola, subtle grapes and mild wood characteristics. Tastes like a solid milky porter with grape subtleties and faint oak. Solid interesting porter ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Doofgoblin (400) - Chevy Chase, Washington DC, USA - MAR 11, 2013
The aroma is immediately fruity and almost reminiscent of a sour with strong grape tones and a slightly mustiness. Pours a brown nearly dark tea color. Taste is totally different from the aroma. It’s smooth malty and somewhat chocolaty with barely any fruit notes except on the end. Finishes faintly fruity with a smooth mouth feel. Really good but can’t help but think that this might age or evolve in to something really special--even a sour perhaps?

Flavors of milk chocolate, vanilla, light vinous notes and light roastiness with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.

Dark mahogany pour with crimson at its core and chestnut edges. Thin latte head. Aroma of musty grape skin, cherry flesh, and cocoa-dusted raisins. Chocolate, oak, vanilla, tart plum, roasted malt, along with some tannic tones. Fairly complex, unique, solid.
