COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aged for four months in bourbon barrels from the distillery in Kentucky, the Bourbon Barrel Stout is a robust yet balanced beer. Roasted malts give it a chocolate and coffee overtone, and the oak creates hints of vanilla and caramel. At 10.5% ABV, this stout pairs well with smokey barbeque sauce or even rich desserts.

750 ml bottle. This is one of the worst beers I have had from one of my favorite breweries,Odells. There is a tart flavor and aroma that was out of place. Some chocolate, lots of bourbon, and that off putting tartness. I want so much to love this, but I do not,I am disappointed. Must try it again.

750 ml bottle. My bottle reads 11.5 % ABV. Pours inky black with a nice rocky mocha head that sticks around forever, leaving nice cobwebby lace. Aroma is chocolate milk, coffee, wood, beautiful. Taste is mostly sweet with bitterness there but taking a backseat. The alcohol is extremely well-hidden. This is so smooth. Mouthfeel is creamy, carbonation is average. Not in your face like a lot of barrel aged imperial stouts. It’s more subtle and very tasty. I’ve always loved Impy Stouts, but I started to get bored with them awhile back. I can’t even remember the last time I had one (goddam alcohol in the brain). Drinking this reminds me of why I love the style. Thanks to my brother for this!

22oz bottle. Rating #177. This was trouble from the start, the cork was popped with a big pop of carbonation and the pour produced a rush of foam, which ultimately led us to believe that there might be some kind of infection. After tasting it, it was slightly infected, which was unfortunate since you could get a hint of what it could of been. (2085)

Compared with GI bourbon barrel stout which I had at the same time. Pours a dark brown, not quite opaque brown with moderate, but not overpowering aroma of bourbon with traces of caramel, and the slightest floral hint. Starts of boozy, but not nearly as strong compared to GI and switches over to moderate bitter and mild sweet finish that is moderate in length. Moderate carbonation. A good bourbon stout for the bourbon lovers, but still reminds you that it’s a beer.

Bottle from ? Pours dark brown with a few tan bubbles. Aroma of bourbon/vanilla. Med body. Flavor of bourbon is strong. There’s some cola and smooth dark burnt malt with a light touch of oak. It’s good, but it could use more oak.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with no head, just a few tan bubbles, and a bourbon and chocolate aroma. There is a hearty treacle and chocolate flavor with a strong bourbon trail.

750 ml. bottle- 800th rating- Pours pitch black with a nice thick creamy mocha colored head. Aroma is thick chocolate malt, mild bourbon, slightly spicy, creamy. The taste is nice mellow chocolate malt, bourbon does come through, but is very mellow, coffee. Body is full, carbonation is medium. Overall I have had better, but a nice beer still.

big bottle .. Pours a light brown .. light spotty lacing .. low foam head .. . maple syrup, light sweet tar, and a touch tart .. . wow, very weak mouth .. . clearly has a spot of infection .. no thanks .. . . If God dwells inside us like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that’s what He’s getting..

Chocolatey, slight bourbon on nose. Tastes good, a bit too carbonated, an easy drinking stout. I wish it had more bourbon backbone to it though. I was a bit disappointed in that. All-in-all good though, not great.
