3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml bottled purchased at Gomers South in Kansas City, Missouri. The bottles opens with a loud pop. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a noisy off white three inch head. The aroma is sweet herbal yeast, grass, and a decent blast of sweet floral. The taste has the herbal sweet yeast up front, moving towards grass and medicinal in the finish. The sweetness is quite pronounced initially, though calmed down as the beer opened and warmed. The palate is fine, highly active carbonation with the sweet floral medicinal finish. A bit heavy on the herbal medicinal yeast and sweetness for my preference. Decent.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A careful pour into my teku glass produces a three finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is a light amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, bright golden color when held up to the light. The aroma has a herbal, dried grass, musty, spicy, and even citrusy character to it up front. The spice character is quite earthy, almost coriander like, but there is lots of lemon pepper notes, a touch of grassy ginger notes, lots of woody notes that lean towards pepper, as well as a supporting fruit character that suggests of pears and ripe green apples. The pale malt / grain character is just barely noticeable in the nose, it accentuates a dried straw note here, and suggests at saltine crackers.
Quite prickly and spicy up front, the carbonation and the spice flavors combine to almost give this a peppery kick. The beer is quite effervescent, and fairly light bodied; it is not bone dry and light like some Saisons, as it has a touch of viscosity to it, but this is quite quaffable and light enough that it is a Saison. This has quite a bit of fruit character in the flavor with soft lemon-leaning citrus hop notes, a touch of yeast derived tartness, and an estery fermentation fruitiness that provides notes of green apples, soft pear notes and perhaps a touch of melon character. The fruit character is held well in check by the spiciness and dryness of the beer. Woody notes meld into dried hay and touches of pale wheat cracker flavors from the grain.
Quite a bit better than I was expecting for some reason; I was expecting a much denser beer, and am quite happy that this is on the light side of the beer spectrum.

Orange hazy color with huge head. Smells of clove, banana, spices. A peppery taste with a little bit of sweetness, smooth finish. A little thin but overall decent saison.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Citrus rhine aroma, a fair amount of head, cloudy golden color, well carbonated that’s a little rough on the palate but otherwise a nice light citrus and fresh grassy saison. Very enjoyable for the warm weather we have been having.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled at Perennial’s Midwest Belgian Beer Festival - Pours pale clear yellow with an off-white head. The aroma is quite herbal with what sesm like lavender, earthiness and saison bugginess. It has a fairly light body with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor start with sweetness, herbal notes and spiciness. The finish has pepper, band aid, saison yeast and astringency. Good saison.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft in a sampler at the brewery. Pours a pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma of bready and sweet malts, banana, floral hops, lemon and orange citrus, and mild spice, including clove. The flavor is mostly the same, with some dough. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bright, sweet, dry mouthfeel. Interesting saison.
