Not quite a stout but definitely no lightweight, Cutthroat Porter is smooth and robust. Inspired by the classic London porters, we use dark roasted malts to create a deep rich color and flavor that hint at chocolate and coffee.

Awesome. Mellow dark burnt coffee presence with a sublime malt/hop balance. Great session beer with proper alcohol amt.

Bottle from Glug in Newcastle. Pored black with a tan head. Quite sweet with coffee and some red fruit notes. Quite a hoppy finish. A nice solid porter.

Draught at the Exmouth Arms, London on 15 February 2014. Poured a very dark brown colour with some amber hue and a dense beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, molasses and mild tobacco. Coffee flavours with notes of dark fruit and chocolate malt. Finish was dark chocolate and espresso, mixed with sweet brown sugar.

Poured from a bottle dark red to black. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. Taste of coffee, a little chocolate, dark malt. Hops don’t come out at all till the end with a slightly bitter finish. Medium bodied with a lightly creamy texture.

Pours dark mahogany with a thin tan head. Aroma is almost non-existent but it is a bit funky. Has an almost sour note to it. Taste is initially ok like a good porter, but has that same funky backend that turned me off. Hard to tell what that taste is...it’s just not good. Once again, I get burned by a beer with a fish on the label.

Thin for a porter. Nice coffee overtones without the bitterness. Pretty decent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Brown beer with clarity. Fizzy tan head. Roasty malt aroma. The body is a bit thin. Otherwise well balanced.

On tap at brewery, pours a clear dark brown w/ large lasting tan head and spotty sticky lacing. Moderate sweet malty aromas. Initial flavor is light to moderate sweet with a light bitter finish. Tastes are light roasted malts, nutty, chocolate, coffee, and grass. Medium bodied, average carbonation, and pleasant mouthfeel.

Keg at the exmouth arms. Dark chestnut brown colouth with a thin cream head. Aroma is subdued choc , wood and twigs. Flavour is woody choc ans soft coffee in the finish. Very clean ferment. Chalky palate. Light body for a potter and high carbonation. Not much going on. Prefer some of the London porters this is too sterile.
