COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not quite a stout but definitely no lightweight, Cutthroat Porter is smooth and robust. Inspired by the classic London porters, we use dark roasted malts to create a deep rich color and flavor that hint at chocolate and coffee.

355ml bottle from Blackfriars, Glasgow (£4.50):
Quite a nice and definitely an enjoyable beer, one that went down quite easily despite not being just as good as I had been hoping going in. The taste was a little basic perhaps with the roasted malts and cocoa seemingly dominating without overpowering. A solid effort but Iím not confident itís a beer that Iím likely to pick up again.

Coffee, chocolate, nuts and some vanilla and dried fruits in the aroma. Dark brown with a tan head. Medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with a average to soft carbonation. Overall a decent Porter.

Tap at 1029. Dark reddish black with thick white head and good lacing. Malt spice aroma. Coffee bitterness is heavy with the malt flavor. A bit of clean hop at the end. A bit of toffee at the end too. Pretty good , even if not my favorite style.

Sampled on draught at the Bull in Highgate. This beer is a very dark brown, practically black, with a strong, foamy, beige head. Fruity aroma, and the taste is dominated by a flavour of raspberry purťe (slightly unexpectedly) and mild roasted notes. There is some mild floral bitterness, but the raspberry flavour really dominates this beer. It is well-made and has a good aroma and nice balance. But I am not sure if I like the raspberry taste in a porter.

Pours dark brown/black with an off-white/tan head, this is a nice smooth porter but nothing outstanding. Slightly smoky finish which is nice enough. This is the third Odell beer I have tried now, I guess I was expecting something more. None of their beers have overly impressed me so far.

Solid Porter that hits all the right notes, not really a standout. Burnt caramel along with some charred coffee. Great thick and smooth mouthfeel.

Amazing beer, true to the genre. Smooth creamy head with feather lacing. Molasses and caramel on the nose and palate with a non-bitter butterscotch finish. Thank you Odell for this first class brew!
