COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not quite a stout but definitely no lightweight, Cutthroat Porter is smooth and robust. Inspired by the classic London porters, we use dark roasted malts to create a deep rich color and flavor that hint at chocolate and coffee.

12 oz pour from chilled bottle into tulip glass. Black and opaque with a fairly fluffy white head. Nose is roasty. Chocolate and coffee. Medium body. Actually a little thin for my tastes. Taste is mostly dry with a touch of sweetness. Chocolate and caramel with light toffee and even lighter coffee. Fairly light as porters go. Almost a porter session beer.

Pours dark with a foamy tan head. Cocoa and lightly roasted coffee. Fortunately no sign of that fish featured on the label.

Nice and bitter porter. Strong black coffee and chocolate flavor in this one. Smells like roasted malt. Had in steamboat. Pours black ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours with a short head that fades quickly, hinting at the less-carbonated nature of its London-style porter inspiration. Hard to get much off the nose except a little dark malt. Multiple malt notes comprise most of the taste, with bitter to acidic note that seems to pair with a woodsy/smoky/leathery component that I’m not sure I like that much. Finishes with a brief flash of sweet malt that almost instantly fades dry. Cocoa difficult to discern until the beer warms up a bit. Not bad, but not going on my list of favorite porters.

This is a really good porter. There’s no one thing that stands out (I bought it served really cold which numbs the taste a little) but it’s really nice. Good balance of malt and hop, a bit of charcoal-y bitter to balance it out. Very drinkable.
